Sadly the CEO is an actress playing the role of business person, which she is definitely NOT. Probably not uncommon in LA. Disorganization runs rampant from the top down. In the Russian tradition of cronyism she put unqualified "friends" in charge. Everyone starts out with enthusiasm but quickly learns to keep their head down. The actual main office is in Moscow of course. Maffick is owned by "Russia Today" -- Putin's multi-lingual propaganda network. So internally the general narrative on current events is that Putin is a cute little teddy bear and everything said about him in the news is a horrible lie. Apparently the CEO spent half her life there and got sufficiently brain washed along the way. Sometimes we'd joke about the FBI raiding the office in Hollywood (but only half joking). During my employee reviews I received only negative feedback despite having done at least an above average job. That's very demoralizing. I guess the biggest "con" is that due to the Russian government ownership, employment at Maffick could turn out to be a liability on your resume.

Too many. Management consists of the CEO's best friends who are unfortunately unqualified for their roles. They take out any small mistake or misfortune on the lower rung of employees while taking no responsibility for their own mistakes. Unwilling to hear out general critiques about workflow and employee issues. You have to literally remind management to do their job frequently. Communications are at a bare minimum, and only resort to doing a company huddle instead of one on ones. The payment method is sketchy. You have to form an LLC in the United States since the payment is coming from Germany. At the end of the day, any work you complete doesn't feel like yours anymore due to too many cooks in the kitchen. The emotional toll and energy wasted on this company would be enough for anybody to not want to return or work ever there ever again. Don't waste your time, because they will not give you theirs.
