Thank you for taking the time to review Magnetic Me on Glassdoor. We know potential candidates visit Glassdoor and your feedback is valuable. First, we do agree that the competitive pay, comprehensive health, dental, vision, and commuter benefits (just to name a few), plus 401k profit sharing and annual bonuses we offer makes Magnetic Me a great place to work. More than that, is our core values, one of which is Better Together, which is exemplified by our office celebrations, birthday parties, outings and dinners to bring our colleagues together.
Please allow me to address your concerns:
- Low retainment (most people stay a year or less): Most of our employees have been with us for many, many years. We take pride in our ability to help grow and advance careers and we do that with subsidized education programs and on-the-job training. We recently experienced a growth spurt and doubled our employee size. When we hire, we try to make sure a prospective employee fits our company values. During the pandemic we hired a few junior employees remotely where there was a skill mismatch, which was not ideal, and we regret this happened.
- Poor management and extreme micromanagement: During the pandemic and as we adapted to working from home, employee collaboration and communication are key. We are glad to offer employees the flexibility to work from home with the expectation that they are able to meet our design deadlines and can be located when called to collaborate during reasonable business hours.
- No compassion or respect for their employees: As much as I appreciate your feedback, I would respectfully disagree. We formed our company after leaving corporate America because we wanted a place where people are treated as we had wanted to be treated, and I think we do that well. We are people and parents first and we treat each other with the same respect.
- Leaders are very condescending when concerns or problems arrive: With a fast growing company where people are juggling many responsibilities, we are mostly short on time. We are sorry if you felt that you were spoken to in a less than respectful way. Another one of our core values is Continuous Improvement, which we take to heart.
All in all we are sorry we let you down and would be glad to speak with you further offline.
Regards,
Lauren
