Pros

Nothing. Not even their name is catchy.

Cons

Magoosh is a feckless joke of a company. Its management has minimal skills and no eye for talent. It’s a poorly operated startup and will fail in no time. Even its name is terrible.

Pros

-Flexible work schedule. Can work from home and take vacation as much as you'd like as long as you're getting your work done. -High degree of trust in every way (employees <--> manager, HR <--> employees, and so on). -Lack of external pressure: not beholden to investors or board. Company can make independent decisions about the direction of the product. -Very common sense policies when it comes to budgets, customer interactions, and internal procedures. A huge pro, especially when compared to larger bureaucratic companies. -Customers really love the product, work is very rewarding. You can have international, tangible impact on students' lives. -Great business model: test prep is a very profitable space, compared to other education products. -Employees are friendly, honest, motivated, and have a lot of raw talent. -CEO is very approachable, relatable, and looks out for his employees.

Cons

-General lack of startup experience at every level in the company means a lot of first-timer mistakes as the company scales. This is a little risky for big strategy decisions about the direction of the company. Can be a pro since everyone grows together and is excited about their work. -Not the most professional work environment. Could also be a pro, depends on what you're looking for. -Employees have very strong personalities, so it's pretty hit or miss as to whether or not you'll fit in to the office vibe and which people you'll get along with. -The compensation culture at Magoosh may turn off people who are aggressive about moving up the corporate ladder and focusing on maximizing personal financial growth. You'll get a lot of fuzzy good feelings and enjoy your daily work, but if you're looking for the competitive, financially incentivized environment that a lot of growing tech startups offer, this is not the place.
