Cons
The founders and executive leadership that have been with the company for 2+years have no idea how to run a successful retail start up and are very out of touch with how things work on the ground. Regularly they make snap decisions that don’t really make sense for the company in the long run without consulting those who are involved in the actual work, and are just trying to save nickels and dimes for the sake of margin wherever they possibly can at the cost of company morale and culture. (Ex. Layoffs in July, offshoring roles of the people they laid off, let go the chief people officer to just have the remaining HR report into the CFO, no bonuses because “it’s a start up”, and heavily resisting to give any raises even if someone is tenured, performs well, or had to take on extra responsibilities for the people they laid off) Most roles at the company are already being compensated much lower than market rate of similar roles in other companies, so there is not much incentive for talent to stay when it seems like executive leadership doesn’t care about what their employees are feeling. Beginning April 2022 until now there has been so much turnover of people leaving ranging from c-suite, to directors/managers, and associates almost every other week because of how bad senior leadership is handling things and how they refuse to do anything that could cost them a dollar more.
