Pros
Parents are supportive, students are for the most part pretty good. Middle School dean team is awesome, and the teachers and supporting staff are great. Middle and upper school teachers are strong, and do their best to collaborate.
Cons
This school should’ve had their charter revoked. There are barely any credentialed teachers, long term subs are common, and the upper management is useless. Most teachers are working towards their credentials, which is fine, but they are not getting the support they need. Coaching is non-existent, and support for brand new teachers is a joke. Most classroom management practices that are pushed on teachers are all compliance based. Observations are barely happening. Coaches and upper management are never held accountable, blame is always put on the teachers or whoever happens to be the principal or assistant principal. The school is constantly restructuring, with there either being a new admin every year or no admin at all. Head of operations was sexually harassing several women, but how can we go to HR when the head of HR is loathed by their coworkers and teachers don’t feel safe around her. Teachers that have stuck it out get fired with no explanation, student support referrals take all year, and IEP services are barely being provided, not because of the team but because how limited they are by upper management and the schedule. They finally hired a strong SpEd director and case managers, and they are doing the best they can but once again upper management gets in the way. Teachers are scared to take on leadership opportunities because once you take on a leadership role, there is a good chance you are getting fired.
