      Was a great place to work until acquired by FireEye

      Pros

      World-class talent, mission-oriented mindset, working "incidents that matter", good compensation & benefits. Having Mandiant experience on your resume lets you command a premium salary-wise when its time to move on.

      Cons

      The acquisition by FireEye caused a massive talent exodus due to a shift in business priorities (profit instead of respectability & renown) and pressure to cut down on overhead costs. An idiotic corporate travel policy enforced by FireEye & being constantly on the road combined were a major morale sap. Leadership & experience within the Professional Services component was gutted when several long-time Mandiant employees refused to push FireEye product on customers. MCIRT was neutered and hamstrung by bad/incompetent management eager to satisfy unrealistic demands by FireEye. Intel team gutted and demoralized.

      Pros

      Great comp, stock rsu's, great name recognition within industry, assignments with big clients. Great if you are a whiz in security.

      Cons

      No training, unreasonable expectations. Can be thrown to the "wolves" very quickly. Managers are great engineers but not great with developing from within. Apply to Mandiant if you are mid level to senior, don't mind traveling, and know your stuff.

      Pros

      Great direction, always changing, and tremendous industry opportunity. Great people and challenges. The business is very transparent and works to build employee morale and engagement.

      Cons

      A lot of changes in a short number of years can be difficult. Some folks shy away from the high level of change, others yurn for the excitement. The leadership has become very mature and removed most issues, however, there are still some engineering leaders that strive to divide the business into their own private siloes.
