Pros

There is currently a lot of work and we got a new Wal-Mart contract so that is keeping us going.

Cons

I don't want to think about what happens when Wal-Mart leaves us. Also, you're expected to work a lot of hours and there really isn't a bonus program. Lunch; I use to like those. Here you're expcted to eat at your desk while working. Normally that would mean you get to leave an hour earlier but not here. The pay leaves a lot to be desired.

Thank you for the feedback. We have a vast client list including: multiple national and local home builders, developers; several state, county, and local municipal contracts; and many commercial and industrial client which we represent nationwide. We stress during the interview process that we provide interesting projects and challenging assignments for our associates. The seasonal and deadline driven nature of our industry may result in additional time at the office during peak periods. Associates are encouraged to enjoy lunch at their leisure. Many associates eat lunch and play Xbox or watch ESPN in the kitchen, some walk around the corporate park, and some choose to eat lunch while they work. Teams frequently go out to lunch to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays, personal milestones, and welcome new team members. We continually monitor and enhance our total compensation package. Our goal is to provide an overall competitive package to retain our associates and recruit new talent as we expand into new markets. Our compensation structure includes salary, performance based bonuses, and many benefits including our 401(k) plan. We are pleased that we were able to reinstate our 401(k) employer match this year. Career development is an ongoing process for all of our associates. We host weekly training programs focusing on technical skills, leadership development, and soft skills. Associates are encouraged to join professional organizations and attend networking events to obtain expertise from a variety of resources. My door is always open for comments or suggestions. Additionally, you may submit your feedback through the comments and suggestion link on the Intranet.

Pros

The CAD knowledge at this company is next-level, no other firm that I'm aware of has the type of resources this company has. Enjoyed my time at the Dallas office for the most part.

Cons

My experience in the Austin Office was one of the most baffling times of my life. I had been jokingly fired during a serious career review meeting, laughed at when asking for a raise for getting my PE license, had our office leader read the bible during a full-office meeting he was leading, was being compensated less than a coworker who had an identical resume to mine but was male. I could not get out of this environment quick enough - absolutely no part of me wanted to come into work everyday. I felt constantly belittled, and upper management was silent on all of the situations after I brought it to the attention of HR. I quickly found another job and the environment is night and day - people are collaborative, encouraging, open, and the team is diverse. The environment at Manhard is openly aggressive and argumentative. I have seen patterns at Manhard of quickly promoting white males above others, grouping women into teams away from the men, and a huge lack of racial diversity; these statements go for both the Dallas and the Austin office. Also if you leave a negative review you'll likely be personally contacted to take it down.
