Pros

The only pro I have is that some people there are good.

Cons

The admins are given way too much to do for such little pay and don’t have time to train people correctly. The co owner will put people on blast over the radio instead of being professional about it and will throw you under the bus for her own mistakes. You can’t plan anything really on weekends because they constantly fall behind so you are forced to work on the weekends and are given a Friday notice towards the end of the day that you have to come in the next day and if you don’t show up you get documented. The warehouse doesn’t really have a consistent procedure even though they have instruction binders, expect things to always change without warning. There is heavy favoritism within the company and they fire people consistently or people are consistently leaving. The turn over rate is worse than a call center. You have to practically brown nose to stay in the company. The benefits also seemed to get worse year after year as far as health insurance. You don’t get paid time off until you hit a year (if you make it to a year).

Pros

I spent many years with the company and only positive thing I have to say is your coworkers turn into great friends.

Cons

Owner is still very young and still trying to figure out what it takes to run a successful business. He’s been firing people left and right that have been with the company for years all so that he can save a few thousand dollars. They have also recently stopped providing uniform services which can only mean they’re trying to save money because they’re going broke or buying more clearing software that does not work. Mannapov is filled with micromanaging upper management. They do not value there workers, they’d rather pay little money to the new people to have a few buttons pushed, rather than keep people with experience to help them grow.

A bizarre place to work

Pros

Great coworkers, nice town to work in, free coffee

Cons

There is a toxic mix of nepotism, "frugality", ineptness, and lack of trust managers have for their team. As a former long-term employee, we felt so excited in the early years, the company grew so fast and there was so much promise. However, after a series of missteps from upper management, none of that potential was ever fulfilled. Instead there was a demoralizing grind of flipping phones and a heads in a sand approach from management in developing software that never panned out. That alone could have been ignored if pay were good (it wasn't) or if management knew how to manage (they didn't). Instead, we were managed with too little trust and too much ire, seen as an expenditure not an investment, never given opportunities to innovate, and rewarded when we kept our heads down and grinded in vain. It was the culture that brought Mannapov down; teams are in silos, there are poor macro level decisions, and even at the lowest level, you are micromanaged and scrutinized rather than coached and treated as an equal. For the clever employee, you realize that since there is no room to move up career wise, you must treat the job as they treat you - simply transactional. In exchange for being a yes-man, you get to learn as much as you possibly can before you GTHO of Boerne.
