Pros

Manning served as an excellent break into the design profession, as they work with a variety of clientele, leading to many different opportunities for expanding expertise, knowledge, and networks. I also was able to learn much more about design and applying it to a professional setting during my time, which has proven most resourceful. The benefits package is also quite competitive compared to many other job openings for other firms. The amount of flexibility present working remotely had many benefits as well, which I definitely appreciated while working for the firm.

Cons

While the remote nature of the firm had its benefits as mentioned, my time working for them has shown to me why it does not work long-term for design positions. It is clear now that there are deep-rooted issues within the firm, ones which have seemingly lingered for years if other reviews here are an indication, and being remote only seems to intensity that. Manning's morals and goals, at face value, are excellent and were upheld in the time I started there. However, they fell off steeply in short time. The toxicity became increasingly apparent as the workload increased, with communication becoming a complete mess, "blame games" commencing between individuals instead of more collaboration and conversations to ensure work was done, and personal time being sacrificed to a completely unacceptable degree. The understanding and sympathy that was once an upstanding example became borderline absent as well, which also made work even more difficult. What started off as something promising quickly shifted to becoming a nightmare within as little as 6-7 months, and that is quite disheartening for those looking to make a long-term career out of design.

Pros

Office is close to transit lines.

Cons

The firm's senior principal is unethical and cruel. This person habitually engages in evil acts and unprofessional behaviors. This toxicity is often directed at the firm's employees.
