Pros

300$ Clothing allowance. Exposure to an upcoming European brand entering the Canadian Market.

Cons

All previous positive reviews are FAKE created by current management, as they were forced to make the company look better by head office. Disturbing work environment, and bi-polar attitudes. You are praised when you make a sale but questioned your loyalty when you have a day with no sales. Passive aggressive attitudes, and twisted relationships between sister locations. Be prepared to scrub the toilets in your marc cain 'uniform'. Be prepared to be blamed when there is theft at the store, even though they refuse to hire a security guard, and schedule one person for 5 hours ALONE. Extremely high turnover rate, 6 MONTH PROBATION PERIOD. No one is happy here! All vacations even 3 days off must be approved by the head office and the director of Canada himself. Be prepared to unpack 30 boxes of inventory, steam, merchandise, clean, clientele, and be accounted for making your outrageous sales goals all in one day. Long shifts with no 15 minute breaks, only a 30 min lunch break. Be prepared to be alone in the store - they are extremely understaffed.

Pros

Clothing allowance. For full time employees, you receive a $500 monthly clothing allowance. By far the only good reason to work for this company Salary is great though too.

Cons

New company in Canada. Severe growing pains. Upper management have too much on their plate. Also consistently very rude and condescending. Ridiculously high sales targets. If you don’t reach them, you are threatened to be terminated. 6 MONTH PROBATION PERIOD!! Utterly ridiculous. They do this so they can get away with firing staff for smaller reasons if they don’t like you. Expectations are to live and breathe Marc Cain. 0 work life balance. Constantly being watched by head office in the cameras. No vacation allowed for the first YEAR!

Pros

- compensation $14 per hour - commission after a 6-months probation period - a lot of training - cloth allowance starting from the second month

Cons

- Violation of Employment Standards; did not get regular breaks after five hours of work - Ignore workers' rights. Force you to sign a form to work more that 8 hours per day otherwise you will be a part-timer. - Managers play favoritism and will act as a lawyer for her favourites. My manager, Sasha Perdomo will tell you not to speak to her customers. She controls everything and does not give your space. Do not provide guidance how thinks are working in the store and then will tell you that you do not listen to her. - Swearing customers behind them if they are not buying a cloth. - Late/morning calls 1-hour before work to show up early or later. - HIGH level of turnover 2 months average. - Sales pressure is unreal. Expectation to sell $2000 per day, $11,000 per week, and 40,000 per month even if you worked one month. - Manager schedule new workers to close a store or during downturns, so they are not able to make a month. - Do not pay commission during a six-month probation period.
