Pros

Met some great people who work in store

Cons

Extremely overworked, working 9-6 or 11.30-8-30 without given the opportunity to have a break. Immensely overbooked everyday to the point of a mental breakdown. Expected to go beyond your role while the people that hold higher job titles sit back and relax. Pretends they’re above board but really operating illegally behind the scenes without any professional knowledge. They run talent through fear of retaliation with strict non competes. Illegally docking pay and sent further proof of them illegally docking my pay. Made to work in poor conditions, bypassing any health and safety laws. Some days would be so hot, staff would throw up in the summer. along came the winter which subsequently, was so cold that you’d have to wear multiple jackets as well as machinery freezing over rendering them useless and forced to bypass the sterilisation methods the company so highly upholds publicly. When reaching out to the corporate team, they just gaslight you and tell you what they think you want to hear. Made to come into work with a positive covid test and bypassed all covid restrictions in store leaving staff at high risk of contracting covid. When other members of staff communicated to corporate they had positive covid tests, the corporate team would not relay the information to any of the staff that were exposed to that member of staff.

Pros

-You get to grow under leaders in your field, growing your tool belt immensely. -Your coworkers become close friends, motivating you to do your best work.

Cons

Despite the above, avoid this company like a burning ship. Senior leadership doesn't communicate to the team and are usually unresponsive: There is no value in diversity and pronouns are treated as optional. Be prepared to work overtime for no appreciation or pay, and to eat lunch at your desk/in a corner if you even get to eat. This company is experiencing insane turnover due to lack of communication and management from the bottom up, in-store and in the corporate offices. Did your paycheck have an error on it? Expect to get that fixed in 3-4 months. There is no loyalty or bench-building. All open senior positions are external hires. Despite multiple instances reported to HR, men in senior positions can keep their job and work with new employees despite continuous reports of sexual harassment. Many of my former coworkers have had their letters of resignation completely ignored until it's time to pay off tabs or turn in keys. If you do get a response, expect it to be blasé and impersonal. Expect to get immediately fired if you put in your notice and then get sick and need a day to rest. Be prepared to prove that you're sick and be treated like you are incapable to work from home, as if it's a luxury to WFH in today's world in a corporation. During the height of a pandemic and a looming election in NYC, we were asked to go back into the store to pierce July 2020, and return to the office August 2020. There were multiple confirmed COVID-19 cases. This could be the place where you begin to thrive, maybe. But proceed with extreme caution.

Pros

The pay is decent. Definitely not worth the loss of your mental health due to a toxic work environment but decent.

Cons

Very very quick turnover. Managers are crap. No support. They rumour and gossip about the sale staff endlessly. The sales staff have sent several emails to higher uppers within the company but nobody does anything about it. The managers treat the sales staff so bad.
