Pros

You have a job that pays you more than minimum wage, but barely.

Cons

Upper management is clueless and continuously lies about the earning potential and stability of the company. BEWARE OF FAKE positive REVIEWS HERE! I've worked in many sales roles and ive never met more sleazy management, they constantly encourage you to lie to the clients and sell by any means necessary. CEO needs a wake up call. Company is in shambles.

Market Leader Response

I am sorry to hear that you feel so unhappy at Market Leader. I personally would like you to know that as the leader of this sales organization, I do not condone, encourage or find acceptable any Account Executive that sells our products by any means less than honest or without realistic expectations. If you have specific examples that you have witnessed, I would encourage to you bring that to your Sales Manager, me personally or Sr. leadership. Any and all concerns that have been brought to me have been handled appropriately. We have clearly written expectations, rules and policies for both how Account Executives are to prospect and how they are paid commissions. My “door” is always open to receive feedback and I would encourage you to take me up on it. Thanks.

Pros

Lots of fairly good sales training. Great benefits.

Cons

Expected to work for free and perform additional training activities off the clock. 99% white male sales force. Extremely dysfunctional management style. Dishonest sales techniques encouraged and supported. The product itself is sub-par, over-priced and quite non-competitive. Unprofessional sales force.

Pros

Fun people, lack of professionalism has its benefits. They throw cash spiffs around like crazy. You can make a lot of money if you excel at a short sales cycle and pressuring people into buying things that they have a 1/10 chance of making money with.

Cons

There are quite a few cons from working at Market Leader. 1.) Management is focused on top line revenue growth in the short term, at the expense of long term growth. 2.) Training is weak and disjointed. Teams change frequently. 3.) There is a boys club of guys that get better leads/promotions because they played basketball for the sales director when he coached "back in the day". But- if you DID play basketball for him, you might get a promotion to manager or team lead. 4.) The product is not the best in the industry. Not even close. You will have cancellations, and you better get a referral before they figure out how ineffective the product is. The old adage in sales is to make sure that you are giving your customer $1.10 in value for every dollar they are spending with you. At Market Leader we give about $0.60 for every dollar customers spend. Proceed with caution.
