Pros

It's genuinely difficult to pick many pros, I'd say the only thing the only credit to this awful company is their lower level employee's who were some lovely young people

Cons

Terrible pay, job was not as advertised, they simply do not care about thier employees, unrealistic working hours, awful management, fake values, they are never true to their words with clients and customers, breaches of data protection, do not treat customers or employees fairly, immoral professional conduct.

Pros

You learn a lot quickly, not just about the industry but also how to spot the slimy people you'll encounter in life.

Cons

Awful Senior Management (not all but most) Favouritism runs rampant Believe their own hype No focus on individuals Terrible ethos in relation to leavers The company was great when it was only 60 people but now its lost its feel, one of the operations directors is hideously under-qualified, no people skills with the team, you're to blame for everything, shops for dresses a lot whilst she sticks on her out of office. 100% useless Other senior management include people with attitude problems, stuck up and under-trained team leaders. The one person everyone seems to dislike was actually my favourite as she took workplace bullying and harassment very seriously, she was hard, but fair in most situations.

Pros

Decent incentives (If you become part of the elite selection that always win them as they’re always based on the same things and set up for the same/regular bunch to win...) Job is just boardering bearable, mindlessly boring but with the training they provide it becomes almost impossible to do badly so it’s easy enough to just grit your teeth and crack on Good facilities on-site

Cons

has a school ICT class set up, and management act like they are teachers rather than equally treating adults. Seems to have a yearly clear out of staff, goes through phases of people being called into meetings at 5:25, never to be seen again with no explanation... You’re pretty much isolated as soon as you try and pass comment and put any managers nose out of joint or express feelings of unhappiness Management have an “inner circle of trust” as worded by the commercial operations director, it’s “them and us” meaning diallers vs management and this is made very clear Work events are ok but pretty much just drug fuelled parties with the men trying to climb on whoever the newest 17 year old in the office is Not really a long term career, unless your life isn’t really going anywhere and you’re easily influenced into a big fake culture

MarketMakers Response

Hi there – I’ve just finished reading your recent review and it’s good to hear you acknowledge the positives in our incentives (our transparent, fair process for incentives mean any regular winners are simply consistent top performers rather than an ‘elite selection’ I do need to point out), good training and facilities. I am surprised and disappointed by some of your statements as they don’t align with how I would see our business and our most recent employee survey responses. I would welcome you to contact me to discuss on jamest@marketmakers.co.uk We regularly make changes and improvements based on team feedback via weekly 121s, our open mic sessions and quarterly employee surveys as well as any ideas/concerns by staff raised in a less formal setting. Wishing you Good Luck in your future roles. Regards Tom James MD
