Pros

Good health benefits. Some individuals are pleasant, only a small number are genuinely good-hearted.

Cons

This company is an absolute disaster, and the issues run deep. The main office in Richmond has become a breeding ground for negativity, where the atmosphere feels more like a battleground than a workplace. Employees walk around with frowns etched on their faces, and there’s a palpable sense of discontent that permeates the air. It’s as if there’s a collective understanding among the staff that making life difficult for one another is the norm, rather than fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. Micromanagement is not just common; it’s the standard operating procedure. Every move you make is scrutinized, leaving little room for autonomy or creativity. The relentless office politics create a toxic culture where alliances are formed not based on merit, but on favoritism and backstabbing. If you think you’ll have any semblance of privacy, think again! Your every action is monitored, and the lack of trust from management is suffocating. Professionalism has plummeted to an all-time low. The workplace is rife with unprofessional behavior, and upper management seems completely indifferent to the chaos unfolding beneath them. To them, you’re just a number in a vast system, easily replaceable and utterly expendable. They will push you to your limits, demanding more and more while offering little in return. The turnover rate is staggering; it’s so high that they’ve given up on keeping the current staff updated. New faces come and go with alarming frequency, a clear indication of the discontent that runs rampant. If you’re not part of the favored group, prepare for a rough ride. Those who don’t fit into the inner circle are often treated poorly, subjected to ridicule and condescension. Employees find themselves mocked and belittled behind closed doors, creating an environment where fear and anxiety thrive. The pay is woefully inadequate, and the prospect of receiving a raise is nearly nonexistent. Your hard work and dedication will go unrecognized, leaving you feeling undervalued and demoralized. In this toxic, high-pressure atmosphere, you’ll find yourself constantly monitored, with little room for error. The stress is palpable, and the lack of support from management only exacerbates the situation. If you value your mental health and well-being, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! There are far better opportunities out there that will appreciate your contributions and foster a positive work environment. Don’t subject yourself to this nightmare; seek employment elsewhere where you can thrive and be treated with the respect you deserve.

Pros

They offer a decent amount of PTO and they have good benefits.

Cons

This firm is extremely TOXIC. The main office in Richmond is a snake pit full of shady employees who love to make others’ lives’ miserable. There is constant micromanagement and office gossip/politics. The HR department is a JOKE. There is no confidentiality at all and it’s very unprofessional. Upper management doesn’t care about you at all. The only pros to this job were the benefits and PTO. Paralegals are very underpaid and not given any recognition at all. There are no incentives here at all. Attorneys will throw paralegals under the bus and get all the glory for any successes. They handled COVID well with working from home but coming back to the office was a disaster. They forced everyone to get vaccinated and if you didn’t get vaccinated you would have to work from home while taking a pay cut. Then with all the money cut from unvaccinated employees wages…they planned on pooling all the money together to give as a bonus to all the vaccinated employees. They will pile the work on you without giving any raises and there is no room for growth here. There are many employees here that have been here for 20+ years who basically can do whatever they want like bossing everyone around and being rude to new employees with no consequences at all. I worked for this company for almost 4 years. After putting in my notice, I was asked what could be done to make me stay but they could not match what my other job was offering me. They fired me 3 days before my last day and I was not able to cash out any of my PTO that I had saved up which was close to 100 hours and added up to about $1500. Be very careful working here because you will constantly have to be watching your back and no one can be trusted. We are all replaceable to them, no matter how loyal you are or how many years you worked for them.
