Micromanagement from senior staff who lacked knowledge in my area, preventing me from doing my job effectively.
They attempted to dismiss me illegally for forgetting to write a handover before a five-day holiday (my bad, but accidents happen!), despite my boss being fully informed. Upon returning, I was called to a dismissal meeting without any prior written notice or warnings, violating their own procedures. When I pointed out the legal issues and resigned, they initially refused to pay my notice period, only relenting after I threatened legal action.
I never heard from my line manager after receiving the dismissal notice, and still haven’t to this day—no goodbyes, no communication—just a company that consistently leaves people on bad terms.
The company has a high turnover and had previously seemingly fired people for taking time off due to illness. Management is disorganised, and there’s no respect/trust to their junior staff who are perfectly capable.
