Toxic District Manager

Pros

Used to be a wonderful company.

Cons

Mastermind has turned into an extremely toxic environment. This was a place I thought I would work at forever. Unfortunately the new head office team has made it so unbearable I had to quit. The DM has disgusting morals. She talks bad about her managers to other managers. Extremely unprofessional and a massive HR red flag. She reveals private information about head office employees to other managers, including about the CEO, her fellow DM's, and other head office employees. Sensitive information about people's addictions etc should NEVER be shared with lower management!! It is impossible to work under someone you can't trust and have no respect for as a mature and honest leader. The gaslighting is stressful to stay above. She picks her favourites and those people know which managers are getting fired before they do! I've never in my life seen this kind of damaging behavior from a district manager.

Pros

Staff at store level were great.

Cons

There was a constant turnover of Head Office staff, so there was never a continuous vision or plan. Within the last 2 years most of the store level management has changed as well. Many long term managers have left or asked to leave. Managers are asked to run their stores with no hours to do so. If you ask for more hours, you are told that other locations are able to do it with less. Shipments are to be on the sales floor by the next day, with only 2 people working while keeping up with always changing promotions at a moments notice. Shift Leaders make less than .75c more than minimum wage, but have why more responsibilities for what they are paid. All part time staff make minimum wage no matter how long you've been there. Upper management spend more time patting themselves on the back for a job well done, while store staff are run off their feet. Bonuses are once a year and only for managers and assistant managers. The amount is laughable. This company has lost its way. The family company from years ago is now a company of corporate greed. Even if you are making/exceeding sales plans, if you are not selling(pushing) the monthly favs, then you are not doing your job.
