Pros

The majority of the staff is great, nice office, ability to take a walk or workout at lunch, sometimes free lunches. No micro managing and a sink or swim mentality (could be considered positive or negative).

Cons

You will not make more than your draw for 1-2 years if at all. I made the company roughly $600,000 (client fees) in less than a year and did not receive 1 cent above my small draw.... not 1 cent! They told me BD Managers made 30% on something like $67% of the fee the client pays and they never paid me that. Instead one of the Partners tried to make up red tape that would ensure I wouldn't get what I was actually owed. If they didn't have such good lawyers and deep pockets I would have 100% gone after them with an employment lawyer. They also did horrible lay offs (mass video call due to Covid-19) then a couple weeks later I had people messaging me on LinkedIn saying they have an offer from MatchBox and what were my thoughts!? Please note that I was not laid off from MatchBox and was not there during Covid-19 but had many friends that were. There are also no opportunities for growth and the Partners have 20+ direct reports and are never available. You will get no training, it’s sink or swim. I personally resigned due to them lying about pay however, they will lay you off if you do not make enough placements right away. There are a couple BD Managers & Recruiters that started at the beginning and built a book of business that do well but that is it. Also, unfortunately 99% of these reviews are fake... they made staff write a positive one after 3-6 months of employment. My advice is to reach out to people who actually worked there if you want an honest representation of the company.

Pros

- Some of the co-workers were really great - Casual office environment

Cons

- Really poor training - Low base salaries and almost nobody making commissions - They say their method works but it really doesn't. There are a few experienced people who are just milking an already well established book of business but for the newer people trying to break into new industries the "tried and proven method" is really failing them. - Really high turnover. People constantly failing and getting fired or leaving. There's a reason this company has had only 30 people for the last few years (in spite of them constantly hiring) - Low employee morale which is really contagious. Hard to be successful when the people you rely on aren't trying (and it's really not their fault as this place will really stomp on your spirit) - Nobody respects the top management in the company. Most people try to avoid them because they can be really hostile if they perceive you made a mistake or aren't drinking the Kool Aid. They are more concerned with protecting their image, generating positive reviews, and going after hollow awards like "fastest growing company" to make it look like they are successful than actually looking at why people are failing and addressing the issues. - Will promise you the world before you join. When you realize it wasn't true, they will promise you that it's all going to change and that they will fix it. When you finally leave, they will try to make it look like it was all your fault it didn't work and bury their head in the sand to do the same thing to the next unsuspecting hire.

Pros

They have a strong team with a mix of experienced Recruiters and new comers. They work with a lot of companies and you can learn a lot about the industry.

Cons

Morning meetings are pointless and seem to be more micromanaging then productive. Recruiters are paid unfair commission for the workload they have in a 180 role. They pay below market compensation in base salary + commissions. Manager takes business personal Happy to give you with legal threats when leaving.
