Mathease always pts students first. They help students succeed like nowhere else. It's not mere tutoring, but teaching. It's harder on the tutors to improve their skills, but it they are up to the challenge it's very rewarding. The parents appreciate how picky the owner is in hiring. It is to benefit the students.
Cons
Owner is demanding of excellence. This isn't simply a "tutor" job. You can learn to teach and impact kids lives. The business has struggled through the pandemic and have not been able to raise wages yet. Employees unable or unwilling to learn, grow and adjust to company procedures might find the position lacking. (See next post).
Access to database with old exams, local school curriculum, common core curricula, and urged to teach through the assigned homework and also fill any missing fundamentals with supplemental homework--this is effective and rigorous
Cons
Pay is very low, management is tempermental and narcissistic. This is not uncommon for management of tutoring centers in the local area. Tutors are treated like the help rather than colleagues who contribute value to the business.
