Pros

I guess if you are fresh out of school, they offer free subpar classes on most Mondays.

Cons

The owner is extremely arrogant for no apparent reason and it is guaranteed he will at point say something completely out of pocket to you. If you enjoy being talked down to and degraded both on your physical appearance and your technical ability, this may be the place for you. Do not be fooled if you're told you will start at any level other than 1. They will tell you you will level up quickly. This is also not true. Plan to stay at a level 1 for 2-3 years, and the same goes for every level after that. It is true that you earn a whopping 2% commission increase with every level jump. Dont meet your numbers that quarter? They reduce your commission. Plan for mostly full books with a commission take home of about $500 BIWEEKLY. You DO NOT have access to your client books, so get your clients phone numbers the second you meet them. They WILL NOT tell your clients where you have gone and don't even think about giving them a two week notice, they will escort you out of the building.

However, the claims you’ve made do not reflect the values or practices we uphold as a company. We understand that the salon industry can be challenging, but we are dedicated to supporting our employees in their professional growth and ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed. Pros

Talented stylists, great people to work with

Cons

Management and owners view staff as expendable, do not respect desire for work/life balance, and expect stylists to work after-hour events and clean the salon after parties without pay. Management views success of business as result of manager, not the talent of the stylists. Pay for stylists is typically under 40% commission. Stylists interested in working here should consult an employment attorney regarding pay structure and the deductions taken from earnings. The salon is beginning to have a high turn-over rate. Salon views clients that stylists attract as property of the salon. Manager regularly uses abusive language towards employees and plays favorites by rescheduling a stylist's appointments with other stylists if she doesn't like them.
