What once might have been a fun place to work has since turned into a battleground, complete with almost weekly casualties.
After a corporate restructuring earlier this summer, it seems that no one in management has any idea of reality and everyone seems confused about the direction ... (and future) of this company. They've also changed our comp plan and since the restructuring - my monthly pay has gone down. I just hope that the end of year "bonus" helps make up for it.
In the past 7 months, just a guess that 30 or 40 people have either quit or gotten let go including an offering by the company for a corporate buyout in return for 3 weeks pay / year.
We had opened an office in NYC in January and not even 9 months later - are closing that office and staff here in Miami are being forced to share office space so the company can save face and rent out half of these offices for income.
We've recently lost some big accounts for the agency and key staff members in the Business Development team, and the future just does not look bright the way things are shaping up as our new biz pipeline has been seriously reduced from it was even 7 or 8 months ago.
Additionally, as a new hire, if you have experience in PR specifically focused around tech with an understanding of products and established relationships, you should be fine - but if not -- there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of help from management with a training program, so be prepared to be put on an island and expected to build a boat with little or no instructions.
