Pros

Used to be the co workers. Until everyone realized how abusive the owner is and they left. Now the company is full of little mini Tracy's.

Cons

The sad truth of Maxwell IT is a lot of employees have given a lot of themselves into trying to make this company successful but the owner is crazy and dishonest and not loyal. It's her way or the highway. She hardly has any IT knowledge and you will receive about 20 calls a day from her to the point where it tempts you to walk out. Clients are constantly unhappy and they have constant outages. The lack of knowledge is sad. As I said before, the owner hires people with zero experience and tries to mold them into mini Maxwell's. It may be easy to get a quick job here but stay clear of this revolving door. People are rarely fired but they do quit because the stress and overworked hours and dealing with crazy isn't worth their well being.

Let me start by saying how sorry I am that your experience with us wasn’t a positive one. I’ll be the first to admit that some changes and improvements are needed. We have made some changes in the last couple of months to improve processes and empower team members to take more ownership of projects. But, nobody is perfect, and we’re still in the process of improving processes and building a stronger work culture. That said, I want to address a few points from your review: 1. I like to hire people who are experts in their field and can deliver value to the clients. Yes, sometimes I take chances on people who have more potential than experience, but I do it because they are resilient, humble, dedicated and eager to learn. If that’s the definition of a mini-Tracy, then I see your comment as a compliment. 2. I am not, nor have I ever claimed to be, the world’s greatest IT expert. Do you think Elon Musk of Space X knows how to make a rocket? Of course not. He counts on the people around him to be the experts and deliver on his vision. I’m not a billionaire technology entrepreneur, but I do have goals, dreams and a desire to make an impact. I surround myself with the people I believe can help make those things a reality.

Pros

All of the employees at Maxwell are great. Easy to work with and they all work very hard. They all have each others backs when needed and take pride in the work they do.

Cons

Owner is located in Seattle branch and is very dishonest and will tell you that the job is very flexible, work/life balance is great. This is not true. You will be working very long hours, your expected to ALWAYS return texts and emails at night and during weekends. Services that are sold to clients are not preformed as projected. Also the owner is verbally abusive to her employees. There is no respect for Engineers and it really shows in their turnover. Both the reviews below this are written by the Company after I told them I thought that this was a pattern for them to do this to employees because I looked at the posting from Oct. 24, 2011.

IT is a challenging field, and I expect a lot out of my employees. I know that the pace of work can sometimes be overwhelming. Like many business owners, I feel the responsibility to create a balance between the demands of our clients and the individual needs of my employees. In the last several years, I’ve learned a great deal about striking that balance and what I need to do to make it better. To that end, I rely on candid feedback from my team about their challenges at work, as well as the quality of their life outside of the office. I will keep your comments in mind as I learn, grow and develop moving forward.

Looks pretty up top, ugly truth underneath

Pros

Constantly varied environment, easy to get hired.

Cons

High turnover, revolving door. Goals and targets always moving, thanks to overly excitable owner (equally volatile). Nothing gets done or improved for this reason. This company has not grown due to the constant flux of staff and direction changes. Maxwell IT sells services that it cannot provide due to their failing infrastructure, but the owner forbids employees from telling clients. Unethical business practices all around. You will be expected to work/monitor 7 days a week and over vacations.

The nature of our industry demands people who are flexible, resilient, responsive and can manage concurrent projects. I believe you came into the business during a period of hectic activity, and I can see by your review that I didn’t adequately prepare you for the tempo of work. For that, I must apologize. You deserved a better experience as a part of the Maxwell IT team. While I am open to critique and will accept blame for my shortcomings, I must take issue with your claims that my business practices are unethical or that I withhold information from clients. Personal and professional integrity are incredibly important to me, and I would never knowingly mislead a client or employee. If you saw or heard something that you felt was unethical, I wish you would have brought it to my attention. I can promise that I’m nowhere as volatile as you think I am.
