Pros

The pay was good and the other legal assistants were amazing

Cons

The company made all of the assistants feel replaceable and unimportant. To the point where the attorneys had a separate Christmas party than the staff. Staff were not allowed to attend company retreats or other Attorney only events.

Pros

The people that work there

Cons

Low wages, no management at all in their SF office. "Benefits" are awful with a $3,000 deductible. There were days where I would sit for 8 hours straight with no work to do, even after asking all the attorneys. They don't allow their paralegals to even do paralegal work. They have Of Counsel answering discovery instead of paralegals. They give the legal assistant all the paralegal type work because one of their main clients is stingy when it comes to billing. You don't need a paralegal certificate to do the job. The morale is low and multiple people are looking for work elsewhere.

Pros

Quality of work, interesting work.

Cons

Very low pay, absoultely no diversity. If you are a white male, this is the place for you. Otherwise, find someplace else. There is a reason that the majority of hte attorneys who have left in the last two years are women and minorities. The health insurance is horrible. The firm is so proud that 2014 was one of the "best yeears ever" in terms of revenu. Then they change the insurance to have a $5000 deductible and then a 20% copay after meeting the deductible. I guess they need to make sure that increased health insurance costs don't impact the bottom line for the partners.
