Pros

There are no pros to provide. I do not recommend working for this company.

Cons

During the interview process, they spoke about awesome mentorship and growth opportunities, but the reality is starkly different. I feel deceived. From day one, I sensed an undercurrent of negativity here. The constant badmouthing and internal politics make it impossible to trust anyone at McCann. Communication is abysmal. Maintaining any sort of work-life balance at McCann is a laughable concept! Working late nights is the norm, and you are expected to be available at last minute notice for weekend and even holiday work. As an exempt employee, you are not eligible for any overtime! Expect to have your personal life disrupted as you sacrifice time with family and loved ones. The pressure to meet unrealistic deadlines is absurd. If you're hoping for a well-structured onboarding and comprehensive training program, prepare for disappointment. The lack of proper guidance and support only exacerbated the toxic culture. Save yourself the anguish, and seek opportunities elsewhere.

Pros

....honestly cannot think of a pro. They attempted to have something they called "Day for Meaning", which consisted of leadership pontificating at employees for an entire half day, while everyone tried to complete their work covertly.

Cons

No training at all in account. Nothing is written down, they expect you to know everything the minute you arrive and it will be help against you if you do not. Don't expect ANY empathy at McCann, during my time there my boss never once spoke a kind word to me, or treated me like a person, instead you are treated like a workhorse, told to sit down shut up and do your work. Don't expect HR or leadership to check-in either. HR will not even check-in to see how your onboarding went or how your are doing. Don't expect mentorship or career growth, no matter what lies they tell you in the interview. McCann Managed Markets prefers to leave great employees in the same title and salary for years, before they would consider promoting them. It's less about merit and more about saving them money.

Pros

-It's mainly the WFH policy. I think it's a big reason why a good amount of the employees are still here. Otherwise, it's hard to keep up with the workload on top of a commute. -The benefits are unbeatable unfortunately. You get unlimited PTO, 160 hours of paid sick time (160 hours/8 hours a day=20 days). Winter recess. People are pretty much always okay when you need to step away for an appointment or to run out to pick up the kids or something The funny/sad thing is, I used to have a lot of good things to say about this place. But the people have gotten worse and the culture has gotten WAY worse.

Cons

-Promotions are slow. Even slower if you're not the department's golden child. A good amount of employees have been here 5+ years with no sign of a promotion, despite showing that they have worked for it. While others have been promoted at least twice in just 4 years. That is not fair to everyone else. If you want loyalty and employees to feel a sense of pride in what they do, promoting them is the upmost recognition a company can give. And this isn't a finance issue since we have at least one new hire for a mid-level position every month. These "merit increases" are just not it. We all know what they are. It's to adjust salary for inflation lol. A 3% increase makes so little difference that it's more of an insult than "recognition for your hard work." -Sure, some reviews will call this place a "tightknit" community, or even a family, but that ENTIRELY depends on if you can fit into their culture. If you can't, then you'll feel alone. People will still be nice to you, but you'll very soon feel lonely when you can't seem to talk to others besides very painful and minimal small talk. Depending on how you fit in, this will either be your most favorite place you've ever worked in OR your absolute worst nightmare. -Some of these people have a big attitude, for some reason. They'll try very hard to get their way ingrained in the process so that they can do less work. There's some bullying behind the scenes involving managers and supervisors too. Classic people in power who go on power trips and think they can get away with not doing work and intimidating the people below them into doing most things -Not all departments are created equal. Another review hit it on the head. Some people get treated like dirt depending on their department or (lack of) seniority and it's honestly so sad to see that. You want to speak up about it when you see it happen, but you don't know who would care to listen. And even if you can find someone to point this out to, you can't change the mentality, you can only change the outward appearance of respect. -Work-life balance is not a thing here lol. You'll have people say that you shouldn't work late but who else is going to finish all the work that's in your emails... WFH is literally the only reason why most employees can tolerate constantly working past 5 PM
