-Promotions are slow. Even slower if you're not the department's golden child. A good amount of employees have been here 5+ years with no sign of a promotion, despite showing that they have worked for it. While others have been promoted at least twice in just 4 years. That is not fair to everyone else. If you want loyalty and employees to feel a sense of pride in what they do, promoting them is the upmost recognition a company can give. And this isn't a finance issue since we have at least one new hire for a mid-level position every month. These "merit increases" are just not it. We all know what they are. It's to adjust salary for inflation lol. A 3% increase makes so little difference that it's more of an insult than "recognition for your hard work."
-Sure, some reviews will call this place a "tightknit" community, or even a family, but that ENTIRELY depends on if you can fit into their culture. If you can't, then you'll feel alone. People will still be nice to you, but you'll very soon feel lonely when you can't seem to talk to others besides very painful and minimal small talk. Depending on how you fit in, this will either be your most favorite place you've ever worked in OR your absolute worst nightmare.
-Some of these people have a big attitude, for some reason. They'll try very hard to get their way ingrained in the process so that they can do less work. There's some bullying behind the scenes involving managers and supervisors too. Classic people in power who go on power trips and think they can get away with not doing work and intimidating the people below them into doing most things
-Not all departments are created equal. Another review hit it on the head. Some people get treated like dirt depending on their department or (lack of) seniority and it's honestly so sad to see that. You want to speak up about it when you see it happen, but you don't know who would care to listen. And even if you can find someone to point this out to, you can't change the mentality, you can only change the outward appearance of respect.
-Work-life balance is not a thing here lol. You'll have people say that you shouldn't work late but who else is going to finish all the work that's in your emails... WFH is literally the only reason why most employees can tolerate constantly working past 5 PM
