Disappointing Experience

Pros

The only pro I can think of is that I formed some friendships I value greatly in my life.

Cons

First, I want to acknowledge that Medela's products serve an essential role in the community and help a lot of mums. Medela has good quality products that have been through a lot of R&D. Unfortunately, my entire working experience at Medela was one of the saddest times in my professional career; I noticed my mental health quickly declined from being in a toxic environment. I experienced a gatekeeper girl boss with passive aggressiveness, and I was constantly walking on eggshells trying to figure out the day's mood. I noticed favouritism amongst some managers and then unethical and discriminatory behaviour towards others, and team collaboration was non-existent. Thankfully, I found a fantastic job elsewhere with a boss who has become a supportive mentor to me. I am slowly regaining the confidence that Medela took away from me. I still have personal trauma from this job, but I hope to put this behind me. I don't need HR from Switzerland to copy and paste a response. If you cared, you would look deeper into why so many people have left the company instead of putting it down to another 'disgruntled employee'.

Pros

The products they produce saves lives and help families. Surprisingly generous to not for profits

Cons

Zero respect lockdown and other covid safety measures. As someone who has a poor immune system I was made to feel guilty for not working in the office after a case (the office was cleaned once a week...) When I had covid and was probably contagious in the office no other employees was alerted to this. Casual rascim towards employees of colour or simply in casual conversation. You will be told it is a flexible workplace however you have little choice over your work from home days and all staff mandatory meetings are often scheduled on days that most employees are not in the office. You cannot switch your days. The marketing department was often referred to as the 'colouring in department', there is disrespect between all departments. Not a good workplace for pregnant people or families. Lastly, there are no exit interviews so management are unwilling to change.
