President of company was very intimidating and hard to read, but obviously weary of me. Very stern, felt like an interrogation every time speaking to him. I informed him during my interview that even though I’d he wanted I could start right away (two days after offer) but would need to work two half days in my first week, he stated that was fine, but weeks later called me to office and aggressively screamed at me, humiliated me in front of his assistant, continued screaming even as I started to cry, then admitted to forgetting I needed that time off, yet offered no apology. Entire family works for company in high level positions, although half of the building is newer & nice the part I worked in was dark and dingy. I found the job very boring. You’re glued to a desk & phone... I felt like I was doing something wrong even getting up to go to the bathroom. Some very shady employees who very publicly verbally abused & shamed other employees. Somewhat cliquey. A few very specific & confusing procedures (such as for reporting system errors) that get reviewed & then often times sent right back to you for the smallest of details but zero explanation of what’s missing. Although hour lunch was appreciated, kind of would’ve rather only had a half hour & got to leave half hour earlier. No flexibility in scheduling (can not stay late/leave early to allow for appts, if you even need a 15 minute difference in schedule you must use PTO). Bathrooms always have a line. Someone keeps extremely close eye on you, for instance they will know if you take 1 minute extra for break. It’s kind of silly but they were extremely picky about my employee picture, made me retake it about 6 times.
