Pros

I had a great experience doing engaging work on a wide array of projects. The people are great. I loved the culture and outings. Only left because I moved away. Keep up the good work!

Cons

Overwhelming at first as you get to jump in right away but there's a learning curve at any company.

Pros

When contacting corporate prospects, I quickly learned that Media Genesis is highly respected for its 23-year track record of serving organizations, especially Fortune 500 companies, regarding website development, mobile apps, E-learning services, social media strategies and E-commerce. With a diversified staff of some 50 people globally, everyone respects each other and knows their role in making the agency a success. Some employees have worked here beyond 10 years. Team camaraderie is enjoyed during chili-cooking competitions, volleyball games and company parties. With interns from across the globe, the agency is very multi-cultural. They definitely "set the new trends". Little wonder that the agency president was once recognized within distinguished group of "30 people under age of 30" by Crain's Detroit Business newspaper.

Cons

The digital agency generally pays competitive salaries for Detroit market, however, some staffers head to New York and Chicago for bigger paying careers.

Pros

I worked mostly in sales and while I struggled this company only later in my career I realized that the culture shoved me into being a self proficient professional. One of the partners whom I disliked at the time for the amount of seemingly impossible tasks he piled on me is now thought of quite fondly. Media Genesis is not for everyone and honestly it wasn't for me at the time. Not because it's a poor company to work for or anything like that, I was just not ready to be honest. If you're going to school and looking for a job there I'd say the creative or low level project management positions will serve you well. Looking back, when I left I would have rated 2 or 3 stars when I left but as I've grown so has my appreciation for my experience at MG.

Cons

Sometimes clients and occasionally management are like a pitching machine throwing 90mph curveballs, splitters and junk balls for days or weeks at a time but it rarely happens. When it does, make sure you voice your situation because if you don't you will sink. Speaking from experience

Thanks for the feedback. We have grown the leadership team to eight now, and they do have a lot of authority over projects and daily operations of the business. We also give new staff, even those with experience, plenty of time to get up to speed with our processes and procedures. As you mention we do believe in challenging staff as that is how you learn and grow, but there are many here to provide support and mentorship. We also encourage lots of open communication (to prevent larger issues later) so anyone can talk to anyone else at any time to share concerns or gather insight. We're also very proud of our MG Alumni who have made significant contributions and achievements around the world.
