Pros

Generous PTO and holiday schedule. Perks like fitness and tuition reimbursements plus learning resources such as LinkedIn Learning. If you are local to Chicago, the downtown office is really lovely. Lots of dining, coffee shops and an onsite gym. Everyone at the organization has been very warm and welcoming. There is a real sense of mission driven work, hearing patient success stories is the highlight of my day.

Cons

Smaller organization, excited to see the organization scale in time and looking forward to career opportunities as the organization grows.

Pros

Hybrid work, employee benefits. That's it.

Cons

Avoid this company at all costs! This company has had too many "restructures" (layoffs) in recent years. They are hiring way too many senior leadership roles, and cutting out a large amount of staff who do the real work. Non-executive employees seem to share an unspoken feeling of burnout and general doom, even people who have given their lives to this company for many, many years have begun to fear being laid off. Left this company with little to no real, transferrable skills. Other coworkers who were fired or laid off shared the same feeling, some had graduate degrees and they spent their time editing PowerPoint decks.

Pros

Hybrid schedule. Some remote employees if you live out of state.

Cons

The workload has become unsustainable. There are no bonuses or pay increases, and many of the perks we previously relied on have been eliminated. While additional PTO is appreciated in theory, in practice it offers little relief, taking time off often results in having to work extra hours afterward just to catch up, which defeats the purpose of PTO altogether. The organization feels increasingly dysfunctional, with frequent changes to reporting structures and no clear ownership or accountability. It’s often unclear who is responsible for what, as leadership has struggled to establish and maintain a consistent direction. Adding to this instability is a continued lack of job security, with multiple major reductions in force and layoffs creating ongoing uncertainty.
