Health benefits are very good.

Cons

Management does not treat its ambulance crews very well. The call volume is very, very high and none of the calls are exciting, and you will always get off at least two hours late. With only three (that's right, three) leave spots available between hundreds of EMT crews, you will never get a holiday off even if you put in for it months in advance. If you take this job, be prepared to be run hard everyday for little pay and little appreciation for your employers.

Sentara Health Benefits is the only "pro".

Cons

If you value things such as sanity, well-being, happiness, and a sense of purpose i would not recommend this employer. They are absolutely the worst company to work with and for. There is no Managerial staff that have any knowledge about how to create a healthy working environment, and they continue to drive their hard-working employees into the ground with no remorse or loyalty. If there was a way to give negative stars, I would.

Great people, too many hours

Lots of overtime pay Wonderful people

12 hour work day is actually 16 hours No lunch breaks, or any break for that matter. QA is always sending reports back that have all the necessary information. Very heavy lifting. Dispatch gives calls after off-time.
