Great professional experience and career development

Pros

I had a great professional experience during the 2 years I worked in Pangaea. The company is very well structured and it has a great culture. The office is beautiful and the people working in there are genuinely nice. They are a great group of people doing a really good job! Pangaea gives you the opportunity to be 100% hands on and develop yourself professionally. They provide yearly performance reviews and career plans, so you can be sure you will be always moving forward while working in there! They offer a good range of benefits, such as bonus and products and gym discounts, and they finish work at 4.30pm on Fridays! Other pros: - Wide company meetings and transparency - Regular company evaluation (they collect feedback from the employees and try to meet their expectations) - Quarterly team building activities (they are always really engaging and fun!) - Free coffee and fruits - Innovation, drive and culture I'm very thankful for my experience working in there and I can't recommend it enough!

Cons

It is a fast paced environment, so it can feels a bit overwhelming.

The brand is thriving, absolutely amazing products. I believe that the company is genuinely committed to providing the best consumer experience. However..

After reading a lot of these reviews I can honestly say I don’t think they’re real. I worked here for a long period of time and am In communication with the majority of people who are still there/have left and I can’t even fathom who would’ve written these reviews. I echo the other negative review on here - there is an extremely bizarre, narcissistic, competitive and egotistic attitude amongst middle management. Senior management are fully aware of this, but choose to ignore it, and to be honest probably use it to their benefit. As the other negative review said, staff are used as pawns in some power trip game between middle management, who absolutely hate each other. The way that people are treated within teams is like nothing I’ve ever experienced in my 10 year career, multiple people have left due to 2 particular members of middle management. As for HR.. they are there to provide smoke and mirrors rather than being an actual support staff or to create a positive culture. This company has a huge amount of potential and many members of staff are some of the most talented and dedicated people I’ve ever met. Unfortunately they’re all miserable, creating a very strange and not to use the word lightly -toxic workplace .

A job if you have no career aspirations

Pros

- friendly team - parking - easy hours - product allowance - work life balance

Cons

- underpaid and they will rather you leave than pay you more - no career path - no diversity in the leadership team - close minded company where everything has to be board approved even if it’s really good - not open to change - very social media pleasing but isn’t true in reality (do it for the gram) - not for people starting a career or looking for progress.

We are glad to hear you have worked with friendly teams and that you had a work life balance. We work hard to promote a positive culture and people experience. We want all our colleagues to be happy, and we are truly sorry to hear that you weren't happy in certain areas. However, we want to ensure that you have left us knowing that we have taken your feedback seriously and responded accordingly. Regards the salary, we undertake a compensation and benchmarking exercise annually and every time we advertise a role. We refer to the London labour market although our roles are based in Elstree & Borehamwood and in Radlett, in order to ensure that we are competitive, where possible have competitive advantage and attract the best talent. We have performance review processes happening every quarter to ensure we continuously look at our people's development and potential, and a clear internal R&R website where everyone can see the responsibilities and expectations of each role. The business is experiencing exponential growth and everyone has an opportunity to evolve as roles keep coming up month by month, and we feel this also provides significant career opportunities. We are also proud to see some of past graduates a part of the leadership and management teams across departments. In terms of diversity, we are proud to be a company that celebrates differences, where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves. At Medik8, differences are not seen as challenges but rather as a fuel of our teamwork. Our leadership currently consists of 44 percent of women. Although this is great stats for a company of our size - we have more plans to be fully inclusive and diverse in all the many ways possible; like most companies have realised, this takes time because for us it’s not a box-ticking exercise but something we are passionate about and want to do properly. From a diversity and inclusion perspective, we are incredibly proud that we have many different nationalities and backgrounds from within our workforce, which also provides diversity of thinking too. Since the business was a start up we are proud of ourselves to have been a very high tech company; we have a cloud system, we have been one of the first 50 companies to use Workplace, and we implemented an OKRs system when it was relatively unknown - we were at the forefront of leading this change.
