Pros

Medisas has a very compelling vision, and a great mission you can get behind. You can easily see yourself trying to make hospitals better. The individuals that I worked with were fantastic. Medisas did an exceptional job hiring compassionate, intelligent, disciplined and charitable people. It was not difficult to build friendships and work with colleagues. It also provide an opportunity, for those not acquainted with hospitals, to see how care is delivered. Employees were encouraged to visit client sites to gain a better understanding of how healthcare professionals work.

Cons

My disappointment in Medisas stemmed from being unable to dial in on the right thing to work on to move the needle. It was difficult to say whether your efforts had impact on the business or users. The company and team seemed to struggle with knowing whether an initiative was a success or failure. This made me feel undirected, unmotivated and undetermined. I expect that all start ups run into this issue, but I was hoping that our team would be able to improve over time. In my experience, we did not. I think that this is what lead people to feel like they did not have autonomy. It was hard to have employees be autonomous when there were only ambiguous missions, and no clear objectives. E.g. “do what it takes to improve care”, vs “decrease time from lab completion to user reviewing the results.”

Pros

Brilliant, passionate and driven people, aside from "Senior Leadership". However, ALL those people are long gone. On the bright-side, if you survive long at this place, anywhere else you go is an absolute cake-walk. That's because no where else treats their employees with such toxicity. The resulting casualties don't burden leadership, so if you want to work at a company that hides behind the pretense of compassionate words, this is the place to be!

Cons

**Readers beware. All the positive reviews are written by current employees who have too much at stake with the company. They're also too low in EQ to understand that the mistreatment they've partaken-in and witnessed is completely unethical.** "Senior Leadership" is composed of individuals who have NEVER managed people until being promoted at this company. Consequently, leadership will go to great lengths to convince you that they are "good people", "the good guys" or "on your side". But actions speak louder than words. If you pay attention to the actions that follow, it will be clear where their true intentions stand. Consequently, mistreatment in the form of discreet verbal and emotional abuse is so regular that you almost forget that a working environment should NOT feel miserable. If you want to know what the culture was like - it was misery with a masquerade of fake smiles and empty words. Furthermore, the entire company is micromanaged by one individual. Ask yourself, how can one person be the head of EVERY department of the company (i.e. - Design, Product, Sales, Marketing, Hiring, Leadership)? This is the result of a complete lack of trust towards employees. Decisions are not approved unless he's used his magic fingers to check-mark everything. When things do go well, expect to be disregarded for your contributions - he'll take ownership for all the wins.
