Everything. This was the most toxic work environment I've ever worked in. British recruitment agencies - I would 10/10 recommend staying away from them. All they care about is who is sleeping with who in the office and if you don't drink then you're automatically not cool. During my time working here there were several senior leadership members sleeping with and dating one another. I saw numerous employees be reprimanded for not attending happy hours or drinking events and told they were being "ungrateful and unappreciative" for not doing so. Also, looking around the office, there wasn't one "bad looking" employee - they only hire popular kids, people who were athletes or frat stars in college, good looking must be a requirement on the job description.
As far as the job itself - it's recruiting. But if you don't hit your metrics every single month, you're taken into a room and yelled at by management and made to feel less than the others. The metrics are set so high and are often unachievable month in and month out. If the office ever gets quiet because not every person is on the phone at once, the VP would often yell out to the office that its "too quiet" and questioning why people weren't essentially smiling and dialing. It was a literal rat race working there. The employees are treated like another number and instead of being given extra support and learning and development if you're struggling, they decide to yell at you, put you on a probation and threaten your employment with them.
All of this, and let's not forget that the pay is horrible. Starting a "Resourcer" with 0 experience at $40k per year - in NYC. This is not even livable wages, you'll struggle to get by on this pay. The commission structure was horrible too, you'd get anywhere from 10% - 18% commission on your placements AT MOST. Other companies have structures upwards of 50% commission per placement. This company is cheap and the people at the top are money hungry and greedy.
Also - don't you ever dare to think about getting up from your desk before 6pm sharp Monday - Thursday otherwise the entire office will stare and judge you as you walk out. Even though you're told the day technically ends at 5:30pm. They want you to slave away from 8am - 6pm or even longer. I've heard people get yelled at for not staying late and putting in the "extra work."
Overall, I would not recommend this company even to my worst enemy. Horrible experience, horrible management. Do NOT subject yourself to this slave labor.
