Great Culture but Bad Business

Pros

The company culture is awesome. They preach self-development and work to coach you and encourage you to reach your lifetime goals. They also give you the opportunity to be a mentor to others which rapid upward mobility.

Cons

Business operations is mediocre. I thought they were fully transparent in the second round interview, but the experience was totally different. Everyone knows about the nature of the sales beast. But what threw me off was that your first two levels of starting, you ONLY get paid commission. You’re paid $8 for driving on the job and $1 for using your phone on the job. The tools that you use to complete your job (table, tent, tablet, etc.) are mediocre. You are selling outside (questioning what they do on rainy days). You only get paid $50 for three days of training, so starting off you’re technically only making $6 an hour. Overall, you don’t get paid for the amount of work that you put in from the jump. You’d have to be about the sales and management life with nothing to lose to succeed in this job. Overall, you don’t get most of the benefits UNTIL you’ve become a manager. I could easily start building benefits as a receptionist somewhere else on day 1 on the job. The absolute worst part was that I called and left a voicemail announcing my resignation, in addition to leaving a text message and asked to discuss when I would receive my check for a day of training. It’s been four days and I still haven’t gotten a response. Not sure if that’s illegal or not, but that is most certainly unprofessional to not even respond.

We are happy to see that you enjoyed your time with MELA Group. We take a great deal of pride when it comes to our uplifting and positive culture. We understand that our business model is unique and is not for everyone. We wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors. Thank you for your feedback. As for the $8 a day for Gas. You are definitely welcome. Law requires us to pay gas at 55cents per mile. Not one employee drives more than 8 miles. So the $8 is more than needed and deserves. We help but we are not your parents. Your Gas is for You to pay to get home and around town. College , nor any most places pay you gas. Please be grateful and less entitled I the future.

RUN! RED FLAGS!

Pros

Great excuse to wear suits and look the part, that's all everyone did.

Cons

This is not a traditional job. This company does not pay people what they're worth. Pay is NOT hourly for a set list of job duties and expectations. This is not for professionals in the job market looking to get paid according to their experience and knowledge. This job is ideal for gullible college graduates that have never been scammed before and don't mind working non stop for little pay. They say everyone has to start at entry level because that's the flow of their business model, yeah because it's very similar to MLM. Everyone comes in at the same level and you get paid to build teams. THIS IS A SCAM! RUN!

Pros

Interviews for hiring is a daily job.

Cons

All they do is hire people Nothing is done in the office except hiring very sceptical. What I ask about how they make money they say they work with fortune 500 companies in promotions but have no proof. Then go on talking about sales with lifeline programs through T-Mobile. I know about these programs. You have to be unemployed under 25K or have a disability or issue to get it it's not handed out to everybody. Not a single person who works in a fortune 500 company uses the lifeline program. So how do they make money it's a hiring ponzi scheme
