Pros

Good pay, job security, there's a union, fairly nice coworkers

Cons

Mandatory overtime, sporadic 12 hour shifts, no concern for home-life balance, understaffed, hard to get days off, constantly dealing with emotionally compromised citizens

Pros

Great starting and top out salary Co-workers may not always get along but are truly there when you need them... family-like environment.

Cons

Under staffed, Mandatory Overtime, shortage of trainers- leaving under qualified people left to train the new hires which leads to poor job performance. There is NO room for advancement other than to become a supervisor and supv has no set shift, they can be working a day shift for years then be forced to go to 2nd or 3rd shift.
