Pros

Agency has tons of clients

Cons

CEO and COO do not have the education or clinical background needed to do the job. Client care is not important to upper management and all they care about it making a large profit. Agency has a history of double billing to make more profit. The agency will over promise on contracts and try to obtain state funding when they do not have the staff to fulfill to the duties instead of allowing other agencies in the area the opportunity to use the funding.

Pros

Employees are great and the mission is wonderful.

Cons

The CEO has no formal education and has come up through the ranks working predominantly in IT which makes him a terrible fit for a CEO position running a large scale behavioral healthcare facility with 15 locations. He is a micro manager, is into power dynamics where he manages by fear and has ruined what was once a great working environment at Meridian.

Toxic and dysfunctional workplace - BEWARE

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

They are always hiring since turnover is so high. Many learning opportunities about what not to do.

Cons

Narcissistic, under qualified CEO who talks down to staff and uses flawed data in reports to shame them in open meetings. Mentally ill, unethical and incompetent upper management that is disconnected from direct care staff. No desire to support or invest in competent staff. Allowing safety risks to remain high in inpatient settings despite numerous client deaths and staff injuries. Lying to AHCA and “losing” recorded evidence. Not client focused. Unethical. Shifting grant funds around unethically. Allowing staff to bully other staff and even acknowledging the behavior with a write up yet still allowing the staff to continue the behaviors. Irresponsible handling of Lutheran funding. Dismissing staff immediately time and time again when they provide a 30 day notice. Blaming mismanagement and short staffing on Covid even though the concerns were evident before the pandemic. Allowing 20 plus licensed clinicians to leave without trying to determine the basis for the mass exodus. Failing to conduct and analyze exit interviews. Creating mental illness rather than wellness from a toxic work environment that triggers past trauma and provides opportunities for staff to experience unnecessary traumatic events.
