I worked at Merkle full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Meet some good people there, had some of the best managers I've ever worked with, really liked my work up until the end

    Cons

The place is a revolving door for employees. They are always hiring, but they care little to retain what employees they have, partially because they know they can just replace them, so a lot of people leaving, so they are always hiring, etc.

I have been working at Merkle full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I am working at the branch in APAC.
I think it is an excellent chance for newly-hired to learn things.
And for you, you will have a lot of chances to get touch with different clients and gain useful client facing experience and industry insights.

    Cons

Salary here is a little bit low than other locations and it is tight for me to have a comfortable life and even enjoy my vacations.

I worked at Merkle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Culture, culture, culture. Merkle, if you have a work hard, play hard attitude is a company that promotes entrepreneurialism. They want to innovate and disrupt constantly and it's an exciting place to be.

    Cons

With the "professionalization" of Merkle as it gets more integrated with Dentsu Aegis there's a risk that Merkle will lose what made it great...

    Advice to Management

Remember what got Merkle to where it is.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Merkle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to start your career and learn a lot, and I was able to accelerate quickly with promotions

Generally loved the people I worked with

    Great benefits

    Cons

About 100000 VPs who do nothing but exude charisma while people on the ground floor are grinding. The teams I worked with on a daily basis were almost always really smart, motivated and "committed to vision" as Merkle says. But leadership seems so disconnected from everyday work to understand what's going on. They put people in leadership who don't add value.

Also, getting bought by Dentsu has made the company lose its commitment to its original values. It's getting too big and the negative effects are more evident.

    Advice to Management

Promote more from within - people who understand the Merkle model and have been successful for years.

Get an ECD who understands the art of selling, you won't win creative pitches without a little theater. (i.e. stop talking marketing buzzwords, start showing work that makes brands excited to work with us.)
