I have been working at Merkle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pros are endless. The work life balance here is tremendous. They really do their best. It isn't always perfect; there will always be busy weeks, but Merkle respects balance. Merkle also has the utmost respect for their people, their beliefs and their career. The whole company fosters an environment for growth and acceptance. While they want you to stay, and do their best to keep you happy, they also part with their... employees so amicably that many return. I've seen so many former employees come back during my time here and that speaks volumes. I've also never worked somewhere so open about the company's financials, growth, and opportunity.

    Cons

It is a big company, so you can often feel lost in the shuffle. The company, while large and corporate, maintains a small company feel, but it can still be overwhelming at times and hard to stand out in the crowd. I think Merkle does well combatting that however.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be flexible: it makes me motivated to come to work.

I worked at Merkle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people and culture - that's what kept me going into the office every day.

    Cons

Management is disconnected to the actual work on the ground. There's a significant disservice to their clients due to the lack of proper staffing on the accounts and inexperienced/new people having too much responsibility for programs - all leading to too many costly mistakes made, having the media teams always planning at a deficit instead of moving business forward.

    Advice to Management

Staff properly and focus on/support your employees so they don't get burned out quickly.

Former Employee - Internship in Little Rock, AR

I worked at Merkle part-time for less than a year

    Pros

A growing company with competitive pay and pleasant coworkers.

    Cons

In my experience, an already overburdened employee was selected to be my trainer. He had little time for assigning me tasks and showing me the ropes. He was a great guy, but the poor fellow just was overworked

    Advice to Management

Consider investing more into a training program so new hires straight from college become more valuable employees much quicker.

I worked at Merkle full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits. Unlimited PTO. Work from home flexibility. Casual environment and dress code

    Cons

Layoffs like crazy. They are moving jobs overseas for cheaper labor. Rigid promotion schedule (only offer promotions 1 time per year along with salary increases). Rigid salary structure (if you signed on at the top $ amount for your position, you will never get a raise unless you get promoted which will take time... not even a cost of living raise)

    Advice to Management

Don't report "successful" quarterly numbers and then follow it up with layoffs. It's misleading and people are leaving because of it.
