Pros

New progressive, forward thinking leadership always looking to improve workplace safety, quality of product, and wants to build the brand. I truly believe the new leadership wants to advance Merrick to #1 by any means necessary. Many new open management level positions.

Cons

Two twelve hour shifts. Long hours 11 dollars an hour starting pay. Location. New leadership sees no value in the local people already at the company Little to no opportunity to grow and advance in your career. Management positions are being filled by the people from other Nestle companies rather than the qualified candidates that already exist.

Pros

Was entrepreneurial. People used to be passionate and care about what was best for dogs and cats.

Cons

Arrogance, what got you here is an OLD story. So many people were focused on their titles and things that they did at other companies, than the mission and focus at their current company. There’s an odd belief that they were going to shatter sales and continue to grow at record paces, without an understanding of how the business world really works. At some point, you slowdown in capturing large chunks of sales and market share that you once had when the company was booming. Especially when you lose focus on the niches that made you rich, and start pushing out products that you blindly feel works instead of what the marketplace tells you. So many things are changing, as the primary focus is cost savings. As many checkpoints have been installed from the parent company and have hindered creative ability and flexibility. There was no real way up the company unless you knew someone in a corner office.

Pros

Awesome product, felt confident about the food. Also went through extensive sales training.

Cons

Lied to employees about the true nature of the nestle purchase and let go of the majority of employees from C &P (under their portfolio) with no notice. This then forced the current reps to have to do even more work on their already super loaded portfolio. Horrible management is incredibly overworked and didn't care about that transition. Very little pay for letting work rule your life. Highly do not recommend - who knows how long until were forced to take the manufacturing somewhere with no quality control!
