Pros

Wonderful co-workers and many people who do really care about doing the right thing. Some really good supervisor unfortunately mine was not one of them. One of the highest paying in the area however no raises in 3 years due to freezes in salaries.

Cons

Well, to say my supervisor was the spawn of Satan would be nice. We were all bullied, harassed and told all the time how inept we were at our jobs. There was even an issue when my supervisor was screaming in my face. Her supervisor knew of this and spoke to her and said it would stop however since they were best friends, it didn't. A previous employee went to the director because she was having issues and knew that going just to our bosses supervisor would not help. It went so good for her that she was forced to quit or she would get fired. Everyone is afraid of the supervisor and knows if anything is said to her boss there will be retaliation. Surveys were done in DHS in order to try to find out why the moral was so bad. Everyone in our department was afraid to give reviews because of what would happen. I was one person who did give my honest opinion and said I was afraid of retaliation. Two weeks after the reviews came out, I was asked to leave. Yep, be careful what you say because it will be used against you!! Pretend to be happy because if not, you will be gone!! Happened to some other departments that I know of too. Oh, and when we were asked about what we accomplished during the year, the supervisor would not allow us to put anything that we had done because actual accomplishments were approved by her therefore she should get credit for them!!!

Pros

I met some great people.

Cons

They claim to value transparency but do not practice it. In fact it is the opposite they are very deceitful and will slander your name if you do not do as they ask because you won't break your own ethics. They ask you to complete tasks and when the information you provide does not paint the picture they like they fire you and call you a liar. I would NOT recommend this place for anyone.

Pros

Pay is good, great benefits, job was challenging and fulfilling

Cons

Serious, serious issues coming from the top. Anxiety-filled, secretive, manipulative environment across multiple programs. Complaints are viewed as something employees are doing wrong. Massive amounts of guilt and slaps on the wrist doled out on a regular basis. My advice- don't do it. The money might be good, but it's not worth ruining your self esteem and stalling your career.
