The most toxic environment imaginable.

Pros

-Office is at Waterfront station. -You can get off at 3 pm in most positions -With the high turnover, you will make some great lifetime friends and connections/network that will be useful in this city -They tend to hire good, friendly people that go out of their way to help you, which makes it bearable to come to work. -After being here, you will be prepared for anything life throws at you.

Cons

-Prepare to be micromanaged like never before. Preschoolers have more freedom while doing their work. They trust no one. I have heard that people in other departments have fainted under the pressure and constant monitoring. Fights and tears are rampant in the office. Bathroom breaks are monitored. Your calls will be listened to, you will be called into impromptu meetings throughout the day in an attempt to make you more productive, but they end up doing the opposite -I have seen top performers in tears because of sarcastic, abusive management. I have seen managers banging tables and yelling and swearing, perhaps because management wants good performance but then gets jealous when they have to pay out large commissions. Irony much? -Feedback includes racial remarks in an attempt to “make you improve”, mocking your voice amongst other random feedback -You will be lured in by money. Read the contract very carefully. You will not get 45k as on target earnings. On target earnings are perhaps closer to 35k. -There’s so much politics internally- you need to watch your clients and your paycheques like a hawk, or your paycheque will be cut. Be prepared to lose money because of games that are played internally and always keep a record of how much commission you should be making. -Be prepared to hear racial and sexist slurs throughout the day. It is very much a white frat boy culture. Peoples accents are made fun of and women are degraded. All in the name of “getting you to improve”. -They care only about money so they cut corners. Almost everyone is a sales person with very little support staff. There is no functioning HR because if there was, there would be complaints against management everyday. -They are so obsessed with numbers, that they lose sight of the big picture which is that relationship building and transparency are the key to selling. Focus on a happy, healthy workforce and you will get the results and the revenue you want. -For the work that is expected, the pay is very minimal. You’d be better of working retail or in a fast food restaurant. -There are no vacation and sick days that anyone is aware of in the first year. They think if no one knows about them, nobody will get sick ever. Not sure if this is legal? -For a “software” company their software is old and beat up. Improving this will again improve morale and improve the revenue.

Pros

Wonderful coworkers, fast paced environment where you will learn a lot quickly. Lots of opportunities for advancement, I moved up quickly due to hard work and long hours. If your team reaches sales targets, the CEO will treat the entire team to super fancy restaurants. (Although you will have to sit quietly while he showboats through the entire meal)

Cons

The CEO is condescending and ruthless. You will hear yelling and screaming in his office or the GM’s office fairly often. They only care about his bottom line. The sales goals are unreasonable considering the terrible quality of leads for new sales. You are expected to sell to non profits that can’t afford the software and don’t have the means to use it. Working hard helping nonprofits get grant funding while making a great wage was just the type of job I was looking for but took me a while to figure out that this is not what this company does. If you have a conscience, you won’t last long. PS - There are cats in the office on the main floor that walk on the desks and get cat hair everywhere and it smells like a litter box.

Pros

It has been an action packed past year with an exceptional opportunity to work alongside a passionate CEO and an aggressive team of professionals. This is one of the few software products and services organizations around that has 25 years of rich history where young talent is groomed to grow through the ranks and is provided an exceptional opportunity develop new skills and grow in various departments. A true open door policy where access to senior management is encouraged and expected. A potent blend of seasoned and experienced staff with long successful tenures and high energy millennials with eye on a management role or tripling their earning potential especially in the sales departments. I am enjoying every minute of it and honoured to be a part of this elite group of professionals.

Cons

This is not an ideal place for those looking for an even-paced or non-target based environments where being average is acceptable. One must possess ambition, drive and ability to solve problems to do well in any department - low energy individuals may not fit in and therefore do poorly.

Pros

I've been here for only 3 months but this is what I have gathered so far. Pay - If you perform as fore-casted as an SDR Metasoft pays very well in commission, when I see a negative review it seems as though somebody didn't really try at the job or wasn't very good at it. Having an external locus of control would lead them to point a finger at the company. Culture - Amazingly friendly culture, Management is super friendly, coworkers are very friendly. They have done an excellent job at creating a positive culture with smart like minded individuals. Management is respectful and will effectively help you advance and hone your skills needed to perform in the role. Location - Good location in Gastown right beside Waterfront Station Career Opportunities - A lot of opportunities to move up into a very well paid position as a sales executive.

Cons

In my position you have to be up quite early! Computer and software that needs minor upgrades

A company stuck in the 1990’s

Pros

Nice Gastown office full of people who genuinely care about the mission the company is trying to achieve. Many employees have been there for 20+ years

Cons

No structured training - you will have to figure it out on your own Stale leads from over 20 years ago on the Canadian side of the business. CRM platform that is ancient and frequently crashes. Not a true SaaS company and no true benefits for anyone looking to build/advance their career in software.

Pros

- Easy job to get as a new grad with no experience - Office is located in Gastown, close to Skytrain - Monday - Friday 6:30am - 2:30pm (was nice to get off early in the summer)

Cons

- Was shocked to see positive reviews on here. Metasoft is a nightmare (looks like many of the positive reviews are new, short term employees) - Incredibly low pay, my salary was $21,000/year before taxes (works out to be about $11/hr) - Please do not be fooled. Helping NonProfits is not the goal, the bottom line is all that matters. - Employees are pressured to sell an over-priced subscription to an out of date software database. Metasoft promises a "Money-back Guarantee" to Nonprofits, but there are a ton small print and hoops the NonProfits must jump through. Even if they meet all the requirements, CEO Trevor avoids signing off on the reimbursement cheques at all costs. - Metasoft is a toxic environment with a high turnover rate. It is a revolving door of people. - No opportunity for promotions or development -Ultimately, I just couldn’t continue to lie to Nonprofits to get money for a greasy, morally corrupt CEO. -When I landed the interview at my current job, the interviewer laughed when she saw Metasoft on my resume. She said she had only survived a month as a Metasoft Employee and asked how I stayed so long! I am now the Executive Director of a NonProfit and every time Metasoft calls to sell me their useless software, I politely decline
