Pros

Commission scheme looks revolutionary but good luck seeing the fruits of your labour

Cons

I rarely leave reviews, but felt compelled to after my experience with this recruitment company. The reality behind the glossy external image is very different. Internally, the culture is built on fear and micromanagement, led by untrained managers who rely on intimidation rather than leadership. It’s a revolving door of staff, and it’s not hard to see why - promises made during onboarding are consistently broken, and any attempt to raise concerns is met with either silence or subtle retaliation. What’s especially telling is the pattern of reviews: any honest, negative feedback is quickly drowned out by a sudden rush of glowing, overly enthusiastic “positive” reviews. It’s hard to believe that’s just a coincidence - especially when those reviews read like they were written under pressure. The real driving force behind the business seems to be private equity influence, where short-term profit is prioritized above all else - including people. Employee well-being, development, and long-term strategy take a backseat to quick wins and high turnover. The CEO presents well in public - on podcasts, interviews, and social media - but the reality inside the company is the complete opposite. The values he speaks about are not reflected in the way the business is actually run. It's all a performance for the outside world. If you're considering working here, ask yourself if you're okay with empty promises, toxic leadership, and a culture that thrives on fear. This place is not what it claims to be.

Metric Search? More Like Metric Mess

Pros

Commissions is not bad... if you get it...

Cons

Where do I begin… Metric Search was easily the worst place I’ve worked. The vibe was a weird mix of cult and prison rules. Casual chat? Nope. Say anything non workrelated and you’d get pulled into a meeting like a naughty schoolkid. They nitpicked everything, making the whole place feel tense and uncomfortable. You were basically chained to your desk, constantly monitored, and expected to work nonstop with zero empathy, flexibility and annual leave was taken for you on cetain dates. And the commission structure? Completely unclear it was super vaugue, you could be getting anything they were very hush hush about the actually amount. Once they rebranded to “2.0” the place truly spiralled. The CEO and COO lost all grip on reality acting like they were running some revolutionary empire while ignoring basic human decency. If you weren’t billing $50k+ a month you were invisible if you’re lucky and bill once you’ll get a “hi”. The reviews? All fake cheerleaders. Real truths get smacked down with excuses and denials. No surprises just another cover-up to hide the mess...they deflect, deny and hope no one notices. Management was a full-blown power trip. No training, no people skills, no clue how to lead, just a lot of inflated egos barking orders and making up rules as they went. There were no proper HR processes, no GDPR or onboarding training, nothing. People were fired at random, whether for not billing or simply not being part of the favourites club. If you’re thinking of joining…don’t. There are far better recruitment agencies out there that actually value people and understand leadership isn’t about control. This place is all hype, no heart.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and I am sorry your experience with us is so vastly different from others. Note, that our reviews are authentic and from genuine Metric staff who are flourishing in our High Performing business. Recruitment is by nature a sales and target led business. We have experienced both NFI and Headcount growth this year of over 30%, which is really bucking the trend across the sector right now. Do we get things right 100% of the time - of course not but our intentions as a growing business are genuine . I am sorry this wasn't for you . We will of course look into your comments and claims

Pros

Celebrations for xmas/end of year etc

Cons

Observing the company’s responses to even mildly critical anonymous feedback is telling if this is how they handle anonymous reviews, it's not hard to imagine how genuine internal feedback is received. Constructive input doesn’t appear to be welcomed unless it aligns perfectly with the established way of thinking, often referred to internally as “the metric way.” Diverging from that is often seen as being wrong, rather than a different perspective. The environment feels heavily one dimensional, with limited diversity and a noticeable gender imbalance that doesn’t seem accidental. Career progression and personal development are minimal, unless you're willing to fully conform and sacrifice a healthy work life balance. While some may see short term gains in commission, the long hours (often 70+ per week) and high stress levels don’t seem to result in meaningful or lasting rewards aside from a vague job title and some superficial perks. For those seeking real growth, recognition, and a supportive culture, this may not be the ideal place.
