A culture of fear

Pros

There is the opportunity to work on cutting edge planning for the San Francisco Bay Area. The non-management staff are motivated and passionate about what they do. Most of the staff are well informed and are experts in their field.

Cons

The executive staff have little to no regard for professional development or employee well being. The staff are constantly guessing what the director wants to do and spend many hours in meetings coming up with possible scenarios in what he may be thinking. Many of the great ideas will never get implemented since MTC leaves the decisions about project implementation to the local agencies.
