Pros

You get free swag sometimes.

Cons

Do you want to work at a place where you're not recognized for your hard work? Where "ambitious" female workers are shown their place? Where you're asked to bow your head and pray after meetings??? Well, this is definitely the place for you!!! A Trumpopian work place at its finest. You too can work for a snake oil sales man where you can learn skills like, keeping your mouth shut, drinking the kool aid and losing your integrity! This company is by far the worst company, with the worst executive management that I've ever had the displeasure of working for.

Short Sighted, No Plan for the future

Pros

the members and suppliers are great. Worked with some really great people. 401k matching is good.

Cons

The leadership team is very short sighted with little to no plan for the future. When asked for a plan for departments, individuals or direction of the company as a whole they can’t (or won’t) provide answers, but expect blind trust from employees. They have a lot of big ideas but do not allow the time or resources for them to fully form and be successful leaving a lot of potential incomplete and abandoned. The company will hire people without a guarantee that the position will still exist or be needed 6 months down the line. They expect instant results. Most companies can provide a 5 to 10 year plan, this place struggles to form and stick to a 5 to 10 week plan. They operate on a fine line of false promises and flat out lies, telling employees whatever is needed to get what they want and it is too late before employees realize they fell for a cheap sales pitch. Claiming to have a solid work/life balance they expect employees to be able to drop everything for work at a moments notice, but provide no flexibility or trust if employees need it. A very one sides arrangement. Under the pretense of a “family organization” they will use you for everything you are worth and case you aside the second you don’t benefit their vision of the moment.

Toxic

Pros

The pay was good... until they didn't want to pay it.

Cons

This place was the most toxic company I've worked in my 20 years of employment. The COO was like a used car sales man. He had a knack for talking up the possibilities but I never saw fruition of those with anyone at the company. A lot of talk but not a lot of action. VERY high turnover where people just aren't employed from one day to the next. Such a sad place to work. So glad I left this toxic culture and found a job that pays more and is 100% less stressful. With jobs a plenty... look else where before you're dooped like so many others. You've been warned.

We hate to hear that your time at Mid-States did not live up to our expectations as being the best place you ever worked. Mid-States has created and must maintain a high-performing culture to achieve annual sales of 7+ billion, and we understand that culture isn’t for everyone. We are happy that you found a position that better suits you.
