Pros

Steady Paycheck at a reasonable rate of pay.

Cons

Oddly toxic work environment not immediately apparent at the beginning. Actual management style and environment does not match those that are the stated management style, mission, and goals. Newer employees are overloaded and burn out quickly while long term "homesteaders" take it easy. Leave before you burn out.

Pros

Good ideals, that eventually help low-income people... maybe.

Cons

They company takes any opportunity to raise rent on low-income people. This is very bad & why this is NOT a non-profit. It is a for-profit. They want to spend lots of money on expensive IT, to manage to-do lists and budgets, while raising rents on low-income families. Not good.

MidPen is Awful

Pros

The benefits are decent, but other companies offer similar or better.

Cons

MidPen is a mess where the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. The leadership in the property management department is very bad. The leaders of this department lack basic competencies to drive process improvement or implement good policies. Their idea of leadership is to publicly berate managers at meetings for not meeting occupancy goals. The work is very demanding, but the pay is very bad. Poverty-level wages for some positions. Overall, it's a very toxic work environment, a lot of gossip, cliques, unmotivated staff, lack of training, poor communication and bad leadership.
