Can't really think of any. I can say that I grew as a result of the adversity I experienced there. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Cons
Gee...there are so many..where do I start? The consolidation with Middle Georgia College was a huge fiasco and the institution is still reeling from the effects. Low pay, no raises (even if you work your butt off), low morale, and management does not appreciate hard work. Upper management (President, VPs) does not care about employees. The President gives his VPs raises every year even after everyone else is told "there is no money for raises." They think staff don't know, but they do. The "little people" who actually take care of business are treated badly and not rewarded. It is a very political environment. Minorities are treated unfairly. There are "back room deals" being made all the time, but the Board of Regents either does not know about them or just does not care. Like many institutions of higher learning, the President has his own little kingdom and runs it as he pleases, with assistance from his minions (VPs, Deans, and other supervisors). He has allowed many good people to be run off by egomaniacal deans and supervisors. The President is aware of Deans who have run (and continue to run) good faculty members off, but he chooses to do nothing about it. There are some good supervisors, but not enough to counter the damage done by upper management.
