Pros
I tried, but at this point can not think of any pros.
Cons
As a store manager, even if you have years of experience and are meeting your store's sales goals, you are micromanaged to death. You get bombarded daily with emails wanting the exact same thing you have already sent more than once. They expect a store manager to sell, but they smother you in so much busywork that you can't. You work sometimes 50 plus hours a week as a manager, but are crucified if you are even a minute late because they monitor your time cards. They don't monitor the sales reps timecards very well though because I have had my employees not be paid correctly more than once, even though we are required to scan and send in copies of timecards every week. Also they do not clearly explain your commission. You never really know what you're being paid for and when you ask for an explanation as to why, all you get is a copy of your pay stub. They promise you how great the money is going to be and how much you're going to make but it's a lie. They create and change your sales goals based on factors you can not control so reaching them in order to get the top pay is near impossible. They take money from you if someone cancels their service or doesn't pay their bill and gets their service disconnected or when someone takes a paid feature off their account. Every operation in your store is ran by someone at the home office in another state who has no clue what the demographics of your area are. Every store is ran like they are in a large metropolitan city that has a huge amount of business. No one at the home office seems to know what the other is doing. There is a huge lack of communication. They do not supply you with the type of products and accessories that you sell the most of. They provide you with what they see fit and make you "special order" everything else, which is another form to fill out and another week for the customer to wait which means they generally will go elsewhere to get it. There are so many different people that you have to email for every little thing and you really have no idea what any of those people's job really is. Your DM is a joke. They come in your store and sit in your break room on their laptop and talk on the phone to their friends or whomever. They do not interact with customers or employees even for that matter. They offer no coaching or advice really except to tell you to not go over their heads with emails. The reason you have to go over their heads with emails is because you try to talk to your DM and you get nowhere so they give you no choice. The place is really ridiculous to be honest. I have tried and tried to just go with the flow and enjoy my work because I love the line of work I am in, but they make it impossible. I hate getting up and coming to work now.
