Pros

The interview process was quick and easy. I know they were in a time crunch, but after my written online application, I scheduled a Skype interview, which led to a second Skype interview and a job offer all within less than a week. Overall, the interview process was easy and low stress. Working for Mindojo has been great. The training process was a bit rushed and haphazard, but everyone was accommodating and interested in making the process better. Once you get the hang of your job, you can be pretty independent if you want. Personally, I was interested in a variety of tasks and was given the opportunity to do so. Once you get your foot in the door, it seems like you can move between roles very fluidly depending upon what you are interested in. If you do want to interact more with your coworkers, I found everyone to be pleasant and enjoyable to work with. Overall, it seems like the company has a lot of exciting things lined up for the future, so it feels like there is room to grow within the company if you are interested and motivated. Oh, and I forgot to mention, you get to work from home, which is wonderful. Most roles are very flexible with what hours you can work as well.

Cons

The full-time pay is a little bit deceiving because it is based upon 42 hours per week, which seems a bit high. If you work 35 hours per week (and all of your work time is logged), you will be getting 5/6th of your agreed upon pay. Also, the pay itself is already a bit on the low side.

Pros

Flexible schedule, a some really great people in the team (not sure they will last for long).

Cons

- The hiring is quick, but CEO is not open about the real situation in the company until you signed the contract and got in. - If something was agreed before accepting an offer but didn't get to the contract, it will be hard to get it. - Unclear statements in contracts are treated in a company-friendly way (as opposed to the employee-friendly way you usually find in other startups). Take a lawyer to check the contract. - You need to make sure all important takeaways from your communication with the company management is duly documented. After I've notified the company that I'm leaving, all due payments (last two months) were frozen. CEO proposed me to sign a termination agreement where I either give up a part of my due payments, or agree to receive half of the payments in a year, and agree not to sue the company. That's just hilarious. BEWARE!

We had no such event with any employee of the company and obviously no such law suit against us. This seems to be a fake review by some contractor we terminated for material breaches of agreement.

Pros

It is a challenging, creative work environment that offers unique strategies to help students ace the GMAT and GRE. Mindojo forces you to think outside the box when writing content or tutoring - learning the inner workings of both tests helped me to think logically and reason critically in a way I previously was not accustomed to. The staff is friendly and quick to offer constructive feedback on how to improve your work. As another plus, working with students from all over the world as a tutor is fun and rewarding and you get to meet some fascinating people. The company is a rising star academically and its programs have had positive results for many students.

Cons

I encountered some communication issues during my time there, both in terms of learning the standards for content writing and later as my assignment for tutoring began. However, the staff was willing to work to resolve these issues and quickly find a solution. I always felt that my concerns were respected and properly addressed.
