Pros

- able to talk bad and complain about management with fellow employees - International students can work above their 40hours per fortnight limit. - Pay rate is according to National minimum standards - Career opportunities are great because they hire a lot of people, but you can expect to be underemployed

Cons

- before you begin employment, the contract, offer letters and information documents are full of grammar and spelling mistakes - they will deduct training fees from your final payslip wage if you do not work with them long enough (as stated in the contract), which is actually illegal - They have no company core values or culture. None of this will ever be communicated to you. They simply have money in mind. - No formal introduction to any of the managers, so you don't know who is who and what they do. Induction is poorly managed as well. - Management speaks broken English and often communicates in Chinese, some don't even speak English. - Don't expect to be trained for your job properly because the managers are not trained. They have no tasks assigned to you but expect you to know what to do, and then complains you're not working proficiently. - Communication is done via Wechat. There will be at least 4 group chats. Your phone will be buzzing 2am into the night. Mute function is your friend. - Managers have unrealistic goals and expectations which are unachievable within given time frame - Managers are indecisive and often change decisions last minute. - Rosters are made and given to employees, and then you can expect 3-7 times of amendments after initial roster. - You can expect to be underemployed because they will just continue to cut shifts and hours.

Pros

Nice Coworkers (they all quit)

Cons

- They treat their employees as slaves. they force you to do whatever they ask you to do. - They don't provide any benefits for employees. Even there is no staff discount. - They want their employees to come to work earlier than their working hours and leave late. they don't want to pay you overtime pay. - You can't even go to the toilet as you want. because only one staff work at a time. Just one staff work alone all day long from 9:30 to 6:00. they do not guarantee any basic human rights. they don't even think about it all. - If you don't do what they tell you to do, they cut your shift out right away. I felt it is kind of revenge or bullying. - They hire people in the title of trainee leaders and never promote them. - They do not provide any training. Just put you in the field without any training and force you to do everything "perfectly" - By law, Part-time employees must be provided with a regular shift. But they give you different working hours each week. which means not right. - The Covid-19 started and many people lost their jobs. Miniso used this as an opportunity(or excuse) to intimidate many employees. They said they couldn't work with them if they didn't do what they wanted (such as unpaid overtime working). - There is also no service centre. so faulty or broken items can not be repaired. - HQ people are so mean and bad. they DO NOT respect their employees. For them, employees are just a means of making money. - Managers at HQ seem to think their words are the law, but absolutely not. They are all wrong from start to finish. - They force employees to sell to customers even though they know it is defective.

Cons

1. Company bosses push employees to up sales 2. If the register is missing petty cash they make employees pay for it 3. Employers are unthankful. They're mad when you do a small thing wrong, but don't appreciate when you do a big thing right 4. First opening of one particular store had poor training and they expect new employees to know everything 5. Changes are always rushed and employers don't listen to employees needs
