Going down the drain

Pros

Mintz Group was a great place to work until a private equity group acquired a majority stake in the company. They used to have fun annual conferences at different locations for all employees, lots of interesting work and top-notch investigators.

Cons

Since the acquisition by private equity, the only thing that matters is the bottom line. They loaded the Mintz Group with millions in debt, demanded millions more in cuts and laid off lots of people with experience and higher salaries. Most seasoned and talented investigators have left the firm, the CEO was abruptly fired and the CFO resigned and the company is now run by a “temporary chief administrative officer” who works for the private equity group and is also a board member. It’s a shame that such a good company to work for is going down the drain on the whims of a private equity group.

Pros

Hardpressed to name any pros of working here.

Cons

Bad management; everyone remains fearful of being laid off; poor company communication; becoming an outsourcing company to offshore offices; no perks whatsoever; cheap and stingy; forced to return to the office for no good reason; salaries are bad; and literally everyone is unhappy and wants to leave.

A sweatshop

Pros

Most of the people who actually do the work are smart and nice. They do a great job of recruiting conscientious people they can gaslight and exploit for a few years before they can't take it anymore. Really the only reason you should ever consider working here is if you can't make friends except through trauma bonding.

Cons

It's hard to do this without really going off, and it's covered pretty well in the other reviews, but everything about it is a con. You should assume any recent positive reviews were written by managers or people who just started and are still training, so don't understand what the job is actually like. This is one of the worst white collar jobs, period. I'm only writing this because the rating is still way too high. They need to add a zero star rating.
