Pros

Young and energetic work force (i.e. recent grads that you don't have to pay much) Can easily make friends with your co-workers (mostly because everyone is stressed so you have something to complain about together) Potential to earn a lot of money...if you are chosen for opportunities by higher management

Cons

Due to the frat culture, sexism and misogyny is rampant at this company. Almost all of the sales people are men and most of operations are women. Sales people make 3-4 times what operations does, you do the math. This company has a drug and alcohol culture which results in unwanted sexual advances and other inappropriate sexual workplace behaviors both in and out of the office. They often sweep these issues under the rug, in fact one high-level employee is barred from entering the office, instead of being fired and charged. This culture is further confirmed when a senior management level admitted that their hiring strategy is to hire competent and smart men and very attractive women for those men to perform better so they can impress these attractive women. There is also no work-life balance at this company as many of the other reviews have pointed out. MoLo was/is in hyper growth mode promising and taking on too much work that overwhelm their current employees. If you didn't smoke or had unhealthy destressing habits, you will if you work here. The burnout is real here and management doesn't have any solutions for it. They will toss you as soon as you are no longer useful to them, no matter how good you may have been previously which results in EXTREME HIGH TURNOVER. Not only are the employees and reps stressed, but middle-management maybe the most overworked class in this company. After every meeting, they look miserable and thus take their frustrations out on their teams and reps. Adding to the stress and burnout, you have to work 5 weekend shifts a quarter. For those that can't or don't want to work on the weekends, they bribe their coworkers anywhere between $50-$150 (this is a daily occurrence). Promotions are based on favoritism not skill or ability to lead, you have to be friends with your direct superiors or good luck trying to get a promotion or a raise. HR is a also a joke, they just follow and do whatever higher management asked them to do. Very selective and arbitrary policies enforcement. HR will not help you if you are struggling and will actively work with the management to push you out if you are not performing to their arbitrary metrics. Their only goal seems to be to shield the company from any potentially harmful situations.

Pros

Good training program and you can work from home if you want.

Cons

-No support from management. If you have an issue and need help, they will ignore you unless it has to do with money. Then they respond in seconds otherwise, you are on your own. - No work-life balance. There are people who work from 6 am to 5:30 pm (or more) and it is expected to at least work from 7:30 to 5:30 with an hour lunch break. You are required to work 5 weekends a quarter and need to have someone cover for you if you cannot work. Oftentimes, you end up venmoing or paying your coworkers on the side to cover your shift. -You are treated poorly. There is one Business Development representative in particular who will treat you poorly and will talk down to you. Multiple people have brought up how inappropriate and unprofessional the behavior is and nothing is done about it. People overall will treat you poorly and get away with it. -Frat Culture. -HR does not do anything. They are there to protect the company. -Other carrier sales representatives will walk all over you, not care about operating procedures, and do whatever it takes to get to the top. People steal loads from you and don't care. They will do whatever it takes to be at the top and do not care about the "values" of the company. Highly unethical things are done to make money. - They are always looking for someone to blame, never working together to solve issues. - You are constantly pressured to hit KPIs throughout the day. You get anywhere from 3-5 messages per day about how you are doing and you are always expected to do more. If something doesn't get covered, expect to get a message from your manager asking you why it wasn't covered and passive-aggressive messages sent to the "team"

Pros

The only positive thing from Molo was the culture, the benefits were good, but the pay wasn't worth the lying and deceitfulness from carriers that made the jump ten times harder.

Cons

I never write reviews for businesses, but I really wanted to write this one It's extremely stressful all 8 hours of the day, everyday. They tell you after you're hired that you're responsible for your weekend shifts. If you can't work your weekend shift then you can solicit and pay other coworkers to take your shifts, some had to pay $50 - $100. I wasn't a big fan of my manger at all, he never showed compassion, and every time I asked him for help he always brushed me so quickly like he didn't even care, even though he spoke highly about asking him for help. He definitely showed favoritism to those who were putting up high numbers, and I never had anyone bark orders at me as much as he did like I was a German Shepherd in police training. Most of the time I felt disrespected by the indirect harsh comments from my colleagues about some of the mistakes I've made which made me feel even more uncomfortable working there. I'm all about working hard and putting in a lot of effort in order to be recognized by peers and superiors, I have been extremely successful in several sale positions in the past, but this job is extremely soul sucking and their communication between departments is horrendous, the company itself isn't that organized. My tank was running on empty emotionally, and I became extremely depressed, unfortunately I had no one to talk to about my problems and what I was dealing with because I was afraid that I would get mocked at or fired. I don't recommend working for any company that calls themselves a 'family.' it's a manipulation tactic . It is important for the business to treat employees with empathy and respect, absolutely. But this concept of a big sweet family works much better in speeches, slogans, and email signatures. However, it has lots of “bugs” in real life. Companies that consider themselves families are more likely to expect unquestioned loyalty from employees. Loyalty creates camaraderie but, depending on who’s in charge, it can also be toxic and blinding in family-like organizations. Companies that consider themselves families may cultivate an “us vs. them” mentality — you’re either in the family or you’re not, and this can get ugly in the workplace, even if it means belittling you.
