Pros

The vehicle maintenance program was good at one time.

Cons

The management has no regard for the employees. They expect you to arrive 15 minutes early, but won’t pay you for those 15 minutes. They think nothing of holding you over after your shift, with no apologies or incentives. Their education program pumps out EMTs and Paramedics that are Not prepared, resulting in Poor patient care.

Pros

Great trucks, equipment. Plenty of overtime for those that want the extra hours. Typically very flexible with scheduling ie will work around schooling. Education opportunities for employees. There’s a station dog now so there’s always that I guess.

Cons

Jesus. Where do I start? Not uncommon to have 6 or less trucks covering a county of over 200,000 people. Company refuses to raise pay to equal that of nearest regional competitor MedStar. Still plays on average $2 less per hour. 12 hour scheduled shifts become 13 to 14 plus hour shifts due to call volume and lack of staffing. 45 minute response times that make you as a provider look horrible. If something bad happens because of said response time the company will blame the paramedic or EMT.

Pros

+ friendly and caring road staff co-workers. + proper and well maintained equipment. + regular weekend pizza parties for the three to four weekend Saginaw city crews!

Cons

- Subpar pay scale in comparison to other private EMS agencies. - lackluster healthcare benefits. - poor staffing. - heavy work load in comparison to pay rate and other EMS agencies. - rarely out on time as management prioritizes interfaculty transfers over E-calls and available resources. - attempts to bribe employees into writing positive reviews on Glassdoor and Indeed.
