Pros

- Remote friendly - Great product with a lot of potential - Mid- and junior- level team members are competent and with integrity - Diverse workforce - Approachable and friendly CEO - Opportunity to put ones hand up and 'fill gaps'

Cons

- Extremely questionable upper-level management hires in the past 1+ years (as demonstrated with their high involuntary turnover). Unfortunately some still remain - CPO (who I reported to) had little meaningful interaction with me during my time at Mobiz. I was in this role for the first time in my career, was the only person with this role in the company, and was given huge responsibility without having any sort of feedback/improvement mechanism in place. Early on I had requested a performance plan and was asked to create my own, and even then it was not taken seriously (nor an alternative provided for us to work with) - Further, instead of providing timeous constructive feedback in the moment during my near-2 years there, this was withheld until I resigned and delivered via email on my last day. What was said was far from constrictive and in fact was a clear attack on everything I had achieved and the value I believed I had offered (luckily this was a clear outlier against ratings I received from seven other colleagues). Some of the feedback from CPO overstepped a boundary and was an attack on my personal qualities - 360 feedback was conducted once in Sept 2021, and feedback was only received 6 months later in March 2022 - and delivered as if it were fresh - Very constrained capacity. Many employees stretched very thin, some running entire departments on their own - HR department has no prior experience in the startup space, no understanding of remote work and no desire to create any company culture. Big focus on control and structures, with no thought to upliftment - Underpaid South African employees (no performance increases or bonuses for 2+ years) - apparently this is their “business model” - No benefits. ESOP promised in 2020 and still had not been granted when I left in 2022 - Nepotism - Favouritism - Double standards - Little concern for what is happening in employees personal lives
